No clue what the hell is going on with my job.

Right now I have no clue what the hell is going on with my job. This is not a livejournal post this is a "Should a be looking for another job RIGHT NOW" post.

Basically, Friday was the end of my work week and before I left my boss told me that he has not finalized a new schedule for me with his boss and he will call me about my schedule. Now this is fishy to me as I always know my schedule, but I never have more than two days off at one time.

Well I casually took my two days off and called my boss around 2PM on Sunday about my schedule and got an answer that I have never gotten before "You will have tomorrow and probably Tuesday off but you will come in on Wednesday but I'm not sure about the time". Now I usually don't take any notice to having extra days off in a job except for this job where we are expected to have one technician on duty daily. I called him earlier today to ask about my schedule today and he said "I will let you know as soon as I get ahold of my boss." I then asked if I should be worried about my job and he replies "You know what just wait for me to call you, I will let you know if you are working tomorrow or Wednesday".

I am abnormally freaked out about that answer, this has never happened before in this job and it is the end of my 90 day trial period which worries me even more.

What should I do? What would you do in this situation?

and there's your answer. They are probably deciding whether to keep you on or not.

If it's seems like something they got to talk about then ya it sounds pretty iffy. I would start looking now while you wait for the phone call. Applying for jobs doesn't mean you have to accept if they want to hire you, and the process will definitely take more than a couple days so might as well start looking.

Might help to know where you work and what you do. You said technician, but that's broad. With the info provided, it does sound like what the others said, they're doing your 90 day review. You should always be looking for a new job bro, especially when you already have a job. It's easy to get a job when you have one, it's when you DON'T have a job, it's hard to get one. I know it's fucked up, but that's the way it is.

Sorry just saw that. Casino tech, well if you're in Vegas, would seem like there should be more casino's to work at? Or maybe those skills could be used at another kind of establishment?

It could be a lot of things unrelated to your performance - maybe the company is undergoing a hiring freeze but your direct boss doesn't know if that means he can bring you on full-time permanently or has to fire you or what, for example.

Either way, sounds like you'll find out in a couple days.

Damn that sucks G. Make sure they fire you though, maybe you can get unemployment? if you quit, you don't get shit. They might have some stipulation that if you don't make it past your 90 days you don't get anything either, unless a state law trumps that. I don't what to tell you man, GL though ; ;

Edit: Still on edge but I got my schedule. I do work tomorrow. "8AM tomorrow, off Wednesday clean up tech office, spares to conex. Four good chairs in tech office, spares to conex, test printers in good rack."
