Cycle continues.
Cycle continues.
That has to be the least exciting/compelling/whatever trailer I've ever seen. Maybe it's just my complete disbelief that Sega could possibly churn out anything remotely worthwhile for Sonic's 20th anniversary though.
There is nothing exciting about a running "hedgehog" and 2 is just double as boring.
Safe to assume they're just pretending Sonic 4 doesn't exist at this point?
Can't wait for the announcement of new friends.
Guess i'm the only one to not post anything negative.
Very excited about this as, judging by the trailer, they are keeping Sonic Unleashed's gameplay style that they also used in Colors. Colors did good things with the new hedgehog engine and slowed it down just enough so that (casuals)people know wtf theyre doing. Judging by the trailer, it looks like they will hopefully build on that already good engine. Luckily this will be on current gen platforms and I'll be able to buy it.
My only hope is that the slow down can keep the frames consistent and the slow-paced movement won't be as twitchy. Might as well make it a download or at least installable!
As far as the 2 Hedghog thing goes, I can only imagine what that is supposed to be. New Age through 3d worlds, old school during 2nd transitions? Or perhaps it will do like the first Epic Mickey E3 videos where you can play 2d platformers in the old-school Disney Worlds.
@Kaisha Sonic Team has always had a bit of ADD I think. Pretty sure Sonic 4 Ep 1 still has a 4+ rating on the PSN though.
Sonic Gaynerations.
fail
My god why does everybody have to jump on the sonic hate bandwagon right at the beginning.
That being said, i have no idea what Sega is trying to say with this trailer.
Playing the odds.
Are you new to the concept of the sonic cycle?
trailer 1
"hmm, well I don't know how I feel about sonic fighting robots with machine guns but hey he's running through a field like he used to so maybe--
trailer 2

Sonic 2006 was a bad game just in developmental standards.
Sonic on the right looks more like his old school self. Sonic on the left is what hes become over the years.

I'm also very aware of the Sonic Cycle so I'll hold on the initial reaction.
Classic Sonic = old gameplay
"Modern" Sonic = new gameplay
Eh.
They're now officially asking us to hate Modern Sonic.
'kay
Classic Sonic <3
Modern Sonic </3
That about sums up my feelings for the trailer.
I want it! fuck you!
they are already fucking up....The first (and only) level I saw was the Green Hill Zone, but it was split in two by the two generations of Sonic -- now does that name make more sense? Chubby/Classic Sonic explored the level strictly from a 2D plane with a focus on platforming, in line with the goal of classic Sonic titles. It seems that the extra pudge is making it a bit harder for Classic Sonic to get his feet off the ground, though, as jumping felt a bit too sticky for a game so focused on platforming.
Why don't they look at how Nintendo's doing with New Super Mario Brothers Wii and say let's just copy them?
Less effort for them and better for us.
Yeah, this is starting to sound about on track with their usual horrible "revive the franchise" idea train.
