Really? I can tell you most Canuck fans weren't expecting a suspension. Hell even the Canucks themselves were saying it probably wasn't worth a suspenion.

Also just saw Pierre Lebrun tweet that Crawford contract is for 8 mil over 3 years.

Definitely not mad at wrapping him up for a cap hit under $3m. Wondering if they're going to find a serviceable backup, $1.2m seems kinda expensive for Turco given his play last year, and Toivenen(their top AHL goalie) didn't look super hot either.

Pretty much. It was a 2 min penalty, but if you watch the replay it's only just that. Sedin turns his back after he sees Eager locked in on the hit and Eager doesn't abort. If Sedin doesn't turn his back because he mishandles the puck it's not even 2.

But no surprise people think it should be a 5 minute major after the CBC announcers go on and on and on and on and on about it.

Also I was more expecting a suspension/fine for the shit he was pulling on Lapierre at the very end, I didn't think the hit on Sedin was a major much less suspendable, but I'm surprised nothing was given for his late goonery given his record.

Bob McKenzie said on Twitter "Not surprised on no discipline for Eager. Hitting from behind, as well as players turning their backs, has become commonplace in NHL. Takes injury or ridiculously blatant (victim not turning back) to get suspension for hitting from behind. May not be right but it's reality."

I dunno if this is my NHL'11 Be a GM talking here, but would probably be kind of a pain to move Turco at this point. $1.2M for a quality backup ain't so bad, and his trade value would probably be down a bit after this season. Also it could be worth it to keep him around just in case the netminders decide to go all Rask/Thomas and Turco goes nuts next season.
