Apparently, there's a bug in the code that won't allow the Groom to spawn (per http://wiki.terrariaonline.com/The_Groom ). Slime King isn't too hard to spawn, go to the edge of the map (but stay on grass), make a hut, put a water candle in your hand, and wait. I haven't found a really efficient way to farm piranhas. Maybe if you used something like my model, but extended the trenches out further? Or just use a single trench with running space above and below, and make it very long... as you run along it, piranhas will spawn and you can vilethorn them (or whatever you do) and collect prizes. Of course, I finally got my robot hat exploring an Overjungle, so meh.

oh ya. For special grinders I think it needs to be off the edge I think. I used the video I saw called Jungle Grinder to make mine, and it worked pretty well to get cobalt pretty quickly. I'm sure if you made it simpler there would be a way where you didn't have to vine back and forth, but it worked pretty well. I think if you were to put a bunch of meteor off screen, with a blank row above or below to spawn them, that would work too.

When you refer to "spawn," what exactly are you referring to? The center of the map where you first spawn or where you have your spawn point currently set to? I read that Slime King only spawns outside of 1/3rd away from spawn while bunnies only spawn inside that 1/3rd away from spawn. However... I built my castle on the very east edge of my world and set my spawn there via a bed. Bunnies are not only spawning all over my fort, but they are also spawning west of the dead-center of my map as well. Not to mention anything else west of that is all Corruption, Deserts, and a Dungeon. No grass really. Is grass really a requirement for spawning Slime King?

I don't know, but I've only ever spawned it on grassy terrain between the dungeon and the beach, at the edge of the map.

There's a glitch where if you turn off Frame Skipping and minimize the game window by clicking the button on the taskbar, time in the game proceeds extremely rapidly. What I did to get Ninja Armor was build a little hut, held a water candle, and minimized the window until the boss music came on. Ideally you should do this on a new world so that the Goblins won't attack you, and walk to a grassy spot on the outskirts of the map because the King can't spawn within a certain distance from the middle. Also you could just minimize the game and afk for like 30 minutes because the kings are so big and slow that falling stars will kill them. However, their drops will disappear eventually so don't leave the game for too long.

Finally got my ninja hat that way... kinda cheap, but fuck sitting around with a candle for hours for him to spawn. Too bad no tophat... it's the only new item I'm missing.

Also, harpies can go fuck off. Building star bridges is now as irritating as doing anything down in hell. Ugh.

Yeah, no Top Hat until they patch in The Groom to actually spawn... they messed up the code on that one somehow.


I am having zero luck getting King Slime to spawn at all, even with the above time-speed glitch. I'm thinking it's because I can never generate a world that has a decent amount of dirt/grass near the beach. Every time I make one, it's all desert or corruption rubbing up against the beach, or the dungeon feels too close, like shit is spawning and getting stuck inside the main above-ground lobby room or some unseen underground cave.

Also, for farming Piranhas, I recommend a huge body of water that fills your entire screen, lined with Jungle Grass. I had funneled massive amounts of water down through an Underground Jungle for the hell of it (hoping to get it down to the Underworld) and ended up completely flooding a large open room before I ever got down low enough. Every time I surfaced up at the top of said pool, waited for my mana to regenerate, there would be a good 10 or so Piranhas when I jumped back down into it. I finally got my Robot Hat from probably less than 10 dives to the bottom. (Flippers and multiple air pockets highly recommended)

I don't think it has to be a natural grass land in order for it to work. If you were to get a staff of regrowth and enough dirt(or some sunflowers/purification powder), I'm sure you could make a section of grass big enough. Where I'm currently farming him, it's a pretty small patch of land (1-2 screens at base resolution) between the beach and corruption and he's spawned 3 times now.

Ah~ha. I finally generated a world where there was a good full-screen worth of naturally occuring dirt/grass/forest biome just before the beach. About 10 minutes worth of time-warping and I've got 3 of them to pop.

for filling a large body of water, is it faster to just take 10 buckets to an underground lake and make a few trips, or is it faster to use the water duplication glitch?

I really think they should add an upgraded bucket (gold?) that lets you take a 3x3 square of water

...or maybe a hellstone bucket which lets you grab 5x5!

I've always managed to flood the underworld with massive amounts of water by accident. Huge chambers full of water. Makes a nice soft landing when you get there.

I think duping would be faster.

I don't think it's very clear just how much liquid is needed to fill even a small pool. From the two lava ones I made a few pages back, it was probably 20-30 minutes for each one, even with a direct access to the lava. You basically get a 1 block thick pool of water for every 10 buckets, just because the water loses so much space when it spreads out. A tleast with duping, you can mindlessly do it and finish in a little less time.

Just got my robot hat too, just hung around the jungle on a blood moon. And now I'm up to 6 Archaeologist's Hats and like 4 Rocket Boots lol

In unrelated news, if you equip the Fishbowl in your armor slot (instead of your social slot) it actually brings up the Breath meter and you can drown if you don't take it off in time lol. I really hope they either let you place the fishbowl later as a furnishing, or allow you to place goldfish themselves and have them swim in little aquariums you could build.

Is anybody else having issues duplicating lava now? Water seems to work fine, but I'm wondering if I'm just failing or if they ninja-nerfed the glitch for lava. It still works, but the timing has to be a lot more accurate, and is a lot slower.
