yea i noticed that too, but with water as well. Sometimes it wont' let you pick up the liquid in the duplicator if you click at the wrong time, but it tends to work fine for me if I click really fast or really slow.

Also I thought Ebonstone was what spawns Eaters of Souls? But my corruption farm changes the sky color (just corrupted dirt, no ebonstone) and has a handful of devourers/eaters from time to time, yet no matter how much ebonstone I place I can't get Eaters of Souls to appear. Anyone have any tips on how to build a room to farm them?

ok fuck the changes to the underworld. tried killing some imps to give me some breather room and they spawn faster than I can kill them.

was going to make more Molten stuff but fuck that. I had enough left for the bow so I made it, killed Skeletor, dungeon-plunged a bit, got a Muramasa, realized there's not much left to do and quit. I might make my floating island castle or I might just be done with the game.

I liked this game a lot but I'm at the point where it's like... call me when they release an expansion pack. I need more than a few new monsters and a new biome that looks a lot like another biome that already exists. now when they release Terraria: Island Adventures or some shit, I'll be all over it, but until then... meh.

also, the game really needs more options for high-level equipment. social equips releived the problem of everyone running around looking nearly the same, but there still are only two real options for end-game armor with a few different pieces that can be substituted here and there. it's pretty lacking.

Even post patch you can just ignore the imps when you're mining, with x4 band of regeneration, decent armor, and obsidian skull you can regen faster than the imps can damage you.

So, after spending hours making an enormous block of 20 piranha spawning tanks, I have realized the following 2 things:

    1) Filling large bodies of water in this game using buckets fucking sucks

    2) My piranha farm kinda sucks.

Tbh, I think the best piranha farm would be 2 small ponds off the screen from one another, and that way you can just run back and forth. Or, another possibility would be to have just a very tall/wide body of water that extends off the screen as someone said, that way you could just let them spawn off screen and swim towards you.

Anyway, it looks pretty cool and it functions pretty well as a jungle grass farm so I guess I'll keep it.

Yeah, dealing with large quantities of liquids completely sucks in this game unless all you're doing is funneling it downwards.

Be nice if they added a Staff similar to the Aqua Scepter that allowed you to place water. Maybe it could have a insanely high MP cost to keep you from rapidly flooding an entire chunk of you world, yet still be faster than buckets... I suppose it would still probably be too destructive eh?

My idea for a piranha farm was to basically just make a really long hallway of water and just run back and forth inside it, using a breathing rod to not need to go up all the time. I never seem to have an issue with piranhas spawning when I'm in the water in the jungle so I'm hoping the same principle works when I make it myself.

Edit: In the process of making this for fun, I ended up with my 2nd robocap. It seemed to have a decent spawn rate even though it isn't fully complete anymore. I seem to have high luck whenever I plan heavily in advance for the expedition. Went to dungeon for plumber hat and got destroyed from the new(?) spawn rate. Came back with 4 stacks of potions, and got my hat on 2nd imp (now complete with gimmicky photo opportunity). Short of a Whoopie Cushion, I think I'm near the same point as Yuri at this point.

Fuck imps and their stingy droprate on the plumber hat. I killed those fuckers for 2 hours last night. No drop. On the bright side, I got my bunny hat on like the 2nd corrupted bunny I made.

For your pirhanna farm, why not make 2 parallel closed tanks and run back and forth between them. Then just use a vilethorn to kill them through the tank walls. That way you can make decent speed instead of running through the water.

We've been killing Bone serpents like bosses and we've had good luck with their drops. We got three Sunfuries and two Flamelashes in around half an hour, but the Imps wouldn't drop a hat.

King Slime and the goblins are still reclusive dooshes. If I could find the willpower to deal random people, I might offer Jungle/Bone Serpent gear for the Ninja pieces or rocket boots.

It's a VPN people use for its server service. It basically just means that he has a server you can use. The only reason it really matters is that for some reason people are against it vigorously because it's supposed to be a little easier to get hacked/DDOSing vs a normal server. I haven't really seen too much concrete evidence on why it's hated, since when I looked for information every thread about why people don't use Hamachai turns into "STOP BEING A BRAIN DEAD RETARD" shout fest within the first page that goes on for another 4-5.

New Dev Blog outlining their first month's success and their thankfulness for the player. There's also talk about some of the content in the next update. I spoiled the whole entry for those wanting it.

    http://www.terrariaonline.com/thread...lestone.30213/

    Spoiler: show
Well, we've reached a month since we released Terraria to the public. And in that time we have seen a large thriving community grow and come together all over the Internet, especially here on TerrariaOnline. So to offer you an idea of the size of the community on a while, we share with you the following numbers.

-By The Numbers- As of (06/16/2011)

    Copies/4Packs Sold Total - 350,000+ (Copies Owned - 432,000+)
Days/Top Ten Sales List on Steam - 32 days
Days/Top Ten Played List on Steam - 32 days
Players Online at once - Peaks we have seen range from 14k to 32k a day.
    Facebook Likes - 28,773
    TerrariaOnline Members -
    40,992
    YouTube Trailer Views - (Old-Gameplay) 1,181,691, (Release Trailer) 866,285

We are very proud of these numbers and we would like to thank all of our fans and the community for the efforts they put in to spread the word of the game, and also contribute to it with suggestions and ideas.

We want to send a special shout out to the team at Valve who help us with out with the general advice they send our way. The way they treat others is a great tribute to gamers everywhere. With so many game companies focusing more on profit, its great to see a company focusing more on the gamer themselves. And their support of indie developers offers a great shining example to other studios. It's as if they are saying, "Don't lose site of why people play a game." And that is also our guideline here at Re-Logic, as gamers ourselves, we know what we want a game to be like.

As for what we want a game to be like, In my last Dev Blog I mentioned some things you could look forward to possibly be in 1.0.5. I would like to share some of the changelog items with you. Not all, mind you, as we like to keep some of it as a surprise of course. We are hoping everyone starts to see the concept for the game as we have envisioned it more and more with every update. As the game starts to come together and become more intuitive, lengthy and purposeful, we hope to quell any doubts some people have that the game will not be able to keep its 'staying power' and 'replayablity'.

To that end, We give you, Hardcore Mode.
I Mentioned it briefly in a tweet, to let everyone know it was on its way. I can verify now that It will be in 1.0.5 and it will offer to those who find themselves wanting more to do in Terraria, an option at just that. Yes, it will be an 'option' and wont be forced on everyone.
Here are a few things I can say about it.

Its a Character Based option, so your HCM character can move between servers. Be careful though. As a non-HCM players grief can end your run quite easily
Its set at character creation and can not be toggled off for that character afterward.
If you Die, thats it, game over. You must start a new Character at that point. Your world however will not be effected by this. So this means you may start a new HC mode character and utilize the house/chests your last character left behind. You will also see a gravestone where your old character met his fate.
It really changes the way you play the game, as every action could be your last. Caution is a good thing. Also, There is more of a sense of accomplishment as you play.

Now, for those of you who want to know what else is coming, here are a few tidbits from the change log.

Lighting code has been optimized to increase performance.
Servers now hibernate when no players are connected.
Bats, Hornets, and Eyeballs no longer enter water.
    Slimes now float in water.
    Spam detection is less aggressive.
New Item - Hellfire Arrow. (Boom!)

Also, Mr. Guide has become a friend to all new players. A new feature for this helpful individual, is that now he can tell you what specific items that you 'show him' are for. This should assist new players in discovering new recipes they can't yet make.

    Furthermore, for those of you who like to know whats going on in your server, and are tired of simply seeing "MrMan was slain..." when someone else dies , will now have the satisfaction of seeing the likes of the following;
"Blue fell to his death." or "Blue had his head ripped off by a Green Slime."

PvP also becomes more interesting (and satisfying) with those kinds of specific death messages. :]
Lastly I want to mention that Redigit has laid the framework for having NPC shops change their inventory after certain world events. It isn't certain yet it the new feature will be implemented in 1.0.5 or not, but its something you can all look forward to.

Overall, we here at Re-Logic feel that offering to our players new interesting things to see and do, is the best way to keep them happy. And, by far, your happiness is important to us. 1.0.4 was hailed by almost all fans as a success, and we hope 1.0.5 will be as well. We have yet to set a date for that update, but more and more each day new things find their way into the change-log.

(Looks at his Dev chat window) Whats that Redigit just said?... New Potions, Buffs?... Oh my.

Np. Someone sent me a PM with a backed-up world. The only things I don't have are the Ninja pieces, which should be in there. Thank you very much!

For those who are interested in hunting Bone Serpents, there is a video a video guide I used to hunt them. It's fairly popular on the official forums, but people still trade far out the ass for their drops.

  16. #556

Watching that video all I want to know is why Imps are not ATTACKING HIM CONSTANTLY?!?!? I swear, they are on my ass as soon as I get there. At all times. Though, so are Bone Serpents so I guess I should be happy. No Flamelash but I do have 2 Sunfurys.

Since the recent update, if the Underworld background is barely on the screen and I am somewhere Imps won't spawn under magma and kill themselves, I am constantly under siege by them. They spawn at about the same rate as I can kill them. It's insane. At the very bottom, about half of them seem to spawn in magma and instantly die, making it somewhat bearable.

They really can't release content fast enough. I need more building blocks though. And I don't mean just different colors. I'd like to have teleporters as well so I can get between various useful spawn areas.

I also wish there was a reason to keep going back into areas like the underground jungle after you get your jungle gear, or hell after you get your sunfury and plumber hat.

Maybe they need to turn this into an actual RPG with levels. Right now I've just got a shitload of extra hearts and stars sitting around in case I want to make another character.
