Well that is a constructive well thought out argument. Thank you for your keen insight that has nothing to do with what I posted.
you don't read this thread much do you
Well he just had his 51'st birthday and when he is in the diner he is 52. We have a whole year for shit to go down. I feel like the writers can make it go in any direction to be honest. I do agree with the scarface thing tho.
With the way they ended the Teddy bear in the pool teases, I'm almost willing to bet that the scene after 52 year old walt is followed by Walt taking that big gun and donating it to the Nation Big Gun Museum where the profits go to orphanages that specialize in kids whose parents died from drug related deaths.
They were watching Scarface because it was a good advertisement for Mob Week on AMC and because something violent would scare Skylar.
Not sure how it will end exactly, but I think a blaze of glory Scarface copy is way too easy for Vince Gilligan.
A little off track but what's with the Teddy bear's eyeball that Walt keeps? I watched Season 1-4 all in a week so it was a lot to process really, I have very little questions about the series as a whole but why did he end up keeping that?
Also, the Icarus story quote that Walt put out there when he was talking to Jessi, was that a threat towards Jessi? Or was he simply pondering it to himself, and trying to keep his own operation in check? There's a reason he brought it back up I just don't really understand why he did it.
Pretty sure he was referring to Mike when he brought up the Icharus story, especially since they just had an arguement prior.
At least that's how I interpreted it.
He was referencing Mike, but it also ties in with the theme of Scarface. Not so much the blaze of glory, but the rise and fall. Being in an a seemingly unescapable/unwinnable situation, finding a way out, getting too bold/carried away, and then the fall. Walt was talking about other people, but we know he's also talking about himself.
I can kinda see Mike but it would be fucking pants on head retarded to bring that other guy up in that context.
The reason I think it's clearly a threat towards Jesse is that it would be a bit redundant for Walt to tell Jesse about his reservations regarding Mike, especially in such an elaborate way. Dude was ready to kill Walt a few days ago showtime wise. No shit he's bothered by him.
He knows Jesse has some loyalty towards Mike and he doesn't like it one bit.
Watching live. :D
