Nah, the movie is much the same. Although I don't remember if the movie has an ed song that has that more professionally made edge to it

Not sure how I feel about Your Name being turned live action by a Hollywood studio. At least it's J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot along with Paramount and Toho, the distributor of the film.

In JJ we trust. I'm balls deep in!

I doubt it'll be as charming of convincing, but the idea is easy enough to do in live action so it could be cool if they don't fuck it up or over Hollywoo' it.
It'll be a hot pile of garbage.
It always is.
I think it'll depend on how close to the source material they stay and how much they "Hollywood" it up. I mean, some things will definitely change like being set in NA and not Japan. And the cast will be super white washed ofc. But if those are the only things that are changed, it could be interesting.
That or JJ pulls an M Night Shyamalan and totally fucks it up.
I'm still very curious about the Gintama live-action movie. That will be hard to do well even if they stay as true to the source material as possible. The last LA movie I saw was the Chihayafuru live action and it was so~so
I just finished the Noragami anime without realizing the manga has been on hiatus for 2 years.
MUH FEELS Q__Q I really hope there is eventually more of this series cause it's killing me.
Violet Evergarden April 5th on US Netflix. Cannot wait to finish watching this. Caught a few eps when I went to Canada a few months ago and I really liked this show.
Overlord ended, somewhat rushed but it was ok. Season 3 announced after for Summer 2018, so gg
A bit late but I'm starting Ancient Magus Bride now as all the eps have aired. If I didn't have work tomorrow I'd carry on, 6 eps in since I got home from work and I'm hooked, it's very nice to watch. Visuals, music, characters, plot, it's top tier.
edit: oops, i thought this was winter anime thread lol
Record of Grancrest War on Netflix was pretty mediocre. Felt like they had a ton of half-assed ideas and never committed to any of them.
I'd say it's a mix of mediocre and rushed. Not sure if the video game was any better, to which it could then be argued the anime was just a giant ad.
Didn’t realize it was based on a video game. Would explain a lot.
Couldn't tell you which technically came first without googling it. Also got Visual Novel vibes from time to time, where certain points/relationships could have definitely been paths, too. Basically pick any underdeveloped female character and there ya go. Probably the only one done any sort of justice not Siluca was the fire dancer.
I like to read overlord anime.
Bumping for a question.
A while back I saw a clip of a girl ranting at a boy for like 2 minutes in a kitchen. Parodies/memes were made of it where people insert their own subtitles. What anime was that?
Maybe link the meme since not all of us are savvy like that but may otherwise recognize the art style/characters.
I know I've seen it before I just don't remember the name because it wasn't very good lol
I think that scene was the only thing to make it out
When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace? I think that's what it was called, I know it's a shitty LN type name for sure.
