Has it been getting better? I stopped keeping up after, like, episode 4. I just wasn't really feeling it. Gonna watch it regardless, but just isn't a priority at the moment.

It's slowly progressing to getting interesting. 2nd arc seems like it's going to get the ball rolling with the story.
Where did ya get any info on that? I'm quite surprised, the image on anidb has some 2 other boys (who might have showed up in the opening, dunno, I always skip it ) who didn't appear yet D; Such a huge jump in time seriously?
HD Remaster is still airing in Japan, and will be for a good while. The street date for the three Blu-Ray sets in Japan is March 23, June 22, and September 21. However, that's with the Japanese pricing model. So, what I mean to say is: retardedly expensive and probably impractical to import (unless you really need the minor revisions). It's sub-only, unless the old audio can be meshed with the new release (and if it is even financially worth doing, etc.). The question becomes how exactly the HD remastered version is treated in terms of licensing; if it falls within the old one held by BEI, it might be substantially more likely to happen. Of course, this is assuming they still even have the license.
That said, I suppose SEED might be on the menu of Gundam series any one of BEI's North American license suitors might consider as a "safe" first release run with Gundam since it has its fairly sizable fanbase.

So, I'm gonna start buying all of the UC series. Does anyone know if any of them are getting blu-ray releases? I would hate to buy the DVD version just to have an HD version come out soon after.
Also, thanks for the info above.
Unicorn and 00 are the only series released in North America on Blu-Ray in any capacity. Unicorn being consistantly with each installment, but as well on DVD (dual-episode disc for each second release (1-2, 3-4, etc.), Japanese audio with subs only). 00 still hasn't recieved any sort of box set, and the movie is the only 00 release on Blu-Ray.
Excluding 00, all series released in North America have a box set (under the Anime Legends title) for a rather reasonable price. This includes 08th MS Team, 0080: War in the Pocket, 0083: Stardust Memory, Zeta Gundam, Char's Counterattack, F91, and all the alternative universe series (excluding X, and Turn-A, etc.).
Both Igloo (0079-related, sub-only) series, unfortunately, were licensed to Bandai Visual USA (NBH decided it was a good idea to establish a competitor for BEI..) and as a result, are massively overpriced and rare as BV USA is long dead.
Gundam 0079, as mentioned previously, will have its (likely final, for a good long while) release on Feb. 7th with the release of the 2nd half of the collection. Code Geass R2's box set drops that day too, for anyone interested.
As for if any of them will get a Blu-Ray treatment? Doubtful; I don't see any of the remaining North American suitors for BEI to license to, wanting to make that investment until they are sure Gundam will still sell enough. I suppose it can still happen, but that relationship kind of needs to exist first (and it will likely only be newer series, in all likelihood). Short of DVD dying completely, I don't think a 32-year old series like 0079 will ever see a Blu-Ray release; its ancient animation is probably a much harder sell to any non-Gundam fan (and even to some Gundam fans).
Edit: So, based off a 2ch thread, the staff of Gundam U.C. have expressed interest in the post-U.C. 100 era in a recent Great Mechanics magazine interview. In other words, more speculative fuel as to how Unicorn may end; and if that ending will create an opportunity to finally animate the storylines of the second century (Mars Zeon stuff from F90, possibly making F91 not a shitty compressed movie, and the entirety of the Crossbone saga, including Ghost).

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 'The Black Unicorn' Blu-Ray & DVD [Episode Synopsis Added]
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 'The Black Unicorn' Blu-Ray & DVD (Theatrical Release Date: May 19th 2012, Blu-Ray & DVD Release Date: Jun 8th 2012)
Episode Synopsis [Spoilers Below]:
Banagher is attacked by the black mobile suit Banshee, and taken into custody. Backed into a corner, he still continues to conceal the new coordinates leading to Laplace's Box which were revealed by the Unicorn Gundam. Bright, the commander of the Londo Bell, sees in Banagher the dignity and possibility shown by generations of Gundam pilots, and he finds help from old firends he once fought beside.
Meanwhile, Mineva has been handed over from Ronan to Martha, and she is transferred to the giant transport plane Garuda as a pawn to make Banagher talk. The conflict surrounding the Box soars to a high altitude and, finally, back into space...
Kai Shiden sighting (although pretty much all the surviving White Base crew/groupies will likely make an appearence, they're even getting a theme apparently) confirmed.
Also, over/under on Sayla (probably Judau's little sister as well; unless something happened between ZZ and UC) inexplicably appearing? She didn't in the novel. If Full Frontal IS Char in the OVA.. the possible conflict between them over their own relationship (and lingering feelings for Amuro she may still harbor) would be pretty great to finally resolve.
Good chance we see the original Argama in this episode or the next too; the staff hinted at it in a magazine short interview recently (in line with the amusing uncertainty of the Grey Phantom's fate for almost 20 years.. 1992-2011). It'll probably have been undergoing refits like the Nahel Argama was during CCA.. so, that's cool. It would kind of make sense for it to finally materialize this long-unseen 3rd Londo Bell fleet (Ra Cailum and its companion Clop-classes comprise the first, the second is a small assortment of Clops and maybe the Irish from the 2nd episode, and the fourth is the Nahel Argama).
Spoiler: show
Also, this should mark the introduction of the 3rd OST.. so like, roughly 12-15 variations on prior songs/some new ones (including the Banshee theme and this supposed "White Base" theme).
New official MG Banshee images..
Spoiler: show
Also, the March-issue of Gundam ACE MSIDTC featurette talks about the Dooben-Wolf (modernized Katoki version) in the Bande Dessinee manga. There is also some suggestion that the Sleeves will be re-introducing MS like the Dooben-Wolf, Zssa, and even Bawoo (a welcome addition) in Ep. 5. Remains to be seen what others we'll see, the Dooben-Wolf was the 3rd place winner out of that poll awhile ago. I'd definitely count on the Barzam (bonus if we get the original AND Refined variant) and Zeta Plus (atleast one variant, probably the space-capable ones) making appearances too.
Spoiler: show
Also; to pad this post abit more: Zeonic's release of Iron Mustang Chapter 2.
Wasn't aware this was was dubbed. It's...okay lol, "ow ow ow ow, wait up!"
