Doubt it, would require Morosawa to.. you know, write a plot. I don't know if she and Stephanie Meyer can take that kind of time out of their new collaboration for that.

Atleast in the Remaster for Destiny, perhaps Fukuda can figure out how to piece footage into a fucking semblance of a plot/make HD stock footage for us to ridicule.

And now for a change of pace, Noboob Gundam:
    Spoiler: show

Also, people on both sides of the Pacific are thoroughly pissed at the fact Level 5 actually expects people to play the AGE games to fill in the shitty pacing, plot, and woefully inadequate character deveolpment of the animation. Maybe treating AGE structurally like a video game wasn't the smartest move, Hino. Or maybe it was being condescending/insulting to fair criticisms.

If an original anime can't do storytelling on its own and requires a "game" to do it for them then it's shitty, same thing with movies that need books released before/after its release to fill in the gaps. If they released a Gundam 00 game that dealt with stuff between Season 1-2 or between Season 2-the stupid Movie that doesn't change anything the anime has already set in stone as canon then that's fine, but it should only serve to attract people who enjoyed a well written anime like Gundam 00 and fill in some gaps and show off some MSV like the 2 suits that lead to Reborns Gundam.

All I remember reading when the AGE art style was introduced was that "AGE is mostly aimed at kids, and Unicorn was gonna be for the hardcore Gundam fans". Um, kids in Japan aren't that stupid, and when you consider that the age group on this side of the Pacific for anime is generally higher than in Japan, and even in Japan older people watch it and those are the type of people that also generate revenue through DVD sales and big purchases, trying to make something that has little plot development and lasts over 26 episodes isn't gonna cut it. People saw that it was going to take 3 generations and expected alot more story development. Instead we get thrown so many minor characters that never really get brought up again. Shanalua(female pilot that 'mentored' Kio)is a prime example, they spent like 2 episodes dealing with her defection and death and then it got swept under the rug and no mention or even flashback has referred to it since. Even the Blitz pilot in SEED dying had a bigger effect, since it resulted in Kira and Athrun fighting to the death, and Athrun throwing his shield at the Skygrasper(a really awesome scene, the out of ordinary stuff like that in Gundam is always entertaining). And it effected more people and it was even brought up again when they ended up on the same side several episodes later.

But the Gundam fans have already been tricked once by SEED/Destiny, if they expected fans to be alright with an anime advertised as a war spanning 3 generations and shitty writing when we've gotten Gundam anime that last 1 year with better writing then idk what they smoke in Japan.

Had AGE made a better attempt at developing its characters instead of a revolving door of Mr. Herps and Ms. Derps who do nothing meaningful to the story (or really, not enough to warrant mutliple episodes being devoted to them to begin with), the series might not be in that most envious of positions; actually gunning for Destiny's claim to fame. High point of the series is probably some portion of Asemu's arc. Maybe even just making the wives worth a flying fuck, other than serviving to just spit out the next generation's protagonist (or eating up time with pointless bullshit), might have saved AGE from plummeting so deep into those feculent depths. This Girard shit wasted more time so late in the series and lead to no plot development whatsoever; it's pretty much sadly foreseeable that this isn't going to end well. If Level 5 couldn't compitently handle the series to this point, does anyone honestly think they can pull it off now with 8 episodes left? I bet Fram will be killed off and Zeheart will make no mention of her; it's not like she was a character that mattered to him or anything right?

It is a shame too, AGE's premise was promising if nothing else; yet it was crippled by shitty characterization, poor plot (in hand with developing someone like Zeheart, then totally ignoring that development in the next generation), and alot of wasted time in a 50-episode length that didn't have room for stupid multii-episode bullshit like Fardain, high school adventures and Second Moon. Alot of the same mistakes from SEED were repeated here; careless, sloppy, moronic mistakes.

Majority of my issues are with Kio's arc, Asemu's was one of my favorites even though young Asemu was annoying as hell in several moments. You see Flit/Woolf/Grudek/Captain Chick as adults and how they've changed or stayed the same, how they influence the new generation, the return of Desil and the satisfaction of finally knowing he won't be back, and alot of good Zeheart development that was needed since he was designed to be the main rival of the series. Then Kio arc comes and it's like...why. The fact that Asemu's sister has gotten more screentime after the time jump than either of the moms is silly too. I'm sure they think that Emily Asuno, who has been there SINCE THE BEGINNING, has nothing of value to add as one of the few people who has seen the war since the beginning. And being there to see Flit before and after his change that has shaped his entire purpose in life now. NOPE LET'S GIVE SOME SCREENTIME TO GENERIC FEMALE PILOT THAT HAS A SICK FAMILY MEMBER THEY WILL USE AS A MOTIVE TO BETRAY THEIR SIDE.

And yea the Girard thing will most likely be forgotten. Which sucks, because a suit that practically counters X-Rounders weaponry seems like a big deal considering the amount flying around + the Vagan have helmets that force X-Rounder abilities to the surface. I really expect that dead sick girls brother in the Regulus or a new model sometime in the next 2-3 episodes

I have to agree, that entire Girard shit was random and space wasting.

You know Victory Gundam formula worked just fine for cannon fodder characters. Introduce pretty girl at start of episode and draw attention to her by giving her a few lines, kill her before it finishes while the plot progressed forward. The main character learns about death and you didn't make her seem important but it gets mentioned alot throughout the anime for its emotional significance. That 1 Shrike girl was stabbed through the cockpit trying to hold up the damaged Mass Driver and 20-30 episodes later you still see her suit holding it up, not forgotten.

    Kate Bush, never forget.

An aside; model kit sales numbers for the HG 1/144 AGE-2 Dark Hound confirm that Crossbone needs to happen (if the public lauding of the design/lamenting over no Crossbone wasn't enough). It is actually the best selling AGE kit, far ahead of everything else. Some survey conducted by the official Gundam site at the time of the release/first apperance in the series discovered that the Crossbone Gundam-ish elements of the Dark Hound are likely one of the big factors (besides being a good, unique design in general).

At least that means it'll get the MG treatment probably. How did the MG Crossbone sell anyway

Dark Hound getting a MG treatment might be the only time an AGE MG wasn't a waste of a month/plastic. It'll likely happen, but if it didn't (never thought i'd say this about an AGE kit) I would totally convert the MG AGE-2; obligatory playing of that song when building, etc.

Don't know precise figures, but both X-1 and X-1 Full Cloth/Skull Heart sold pretty well (not Zaku 2.0 or RX-78-2 OYW well). The only "gripe" people had was the Katoki take including that antenna on the Skull Heart's head (this isn't so bad though, made the XM-10 Flint conversions following the release alot easier). It's not a big deal really; just apply some putty to the hole there smoothly and you make it manga faithful.

I guess with all this fervor for Crossbone, count on MG X-2 and X-3 when the series inevitably gets animated. On the topic of Crossbone kits, maybe the one good thing to come out of the AGE kits will be some familiarity with more... "organic" designs. Many of the Jupiter MS (like the Colnigs) designs I can see benefitting from lessons learned from the AGE line.

Yea I saw screencaps of that scene already, they completely butchered it. They changed it so the bottom of the Sword Strikes beam sword(that has a small saber on it) cut into the cockpit instead. Cause Kira can do no wrong apparently and only accidentally kill someone.

But Nicol was only 15 and loved the piano; piano love a sin against the Lacus doctrine I guess. Whatever, it's only getting worse from here with the Remaster adding the "Perfect" Stike to the Orb battle and the suspected announcement of the Destiny Remaster at the end of the month at Fukuda's shameless SEED party.

I really am looking forward to Fukuda improving the series even more.

Did the special edition even show Kira killing Miguel the EXACT same way as he did Nicol originally, or do the special editions just never include Miguel at all?
