Goddamnit you two, can't we have deluded ourselves alittle before we accepted the truth of errythang BAYSPLOSIONS?
Spoiler: show
Looks like its just the Banshee then, Beam Magnum (with a grenade launcher from the Jesta (Cannon's) beam carbine slung under the barrel), new backpack with the Armed Armor DE (standard Unicorn shield with additional armor, beam cannon, and... a propulsion system or something).
This is basicly the only image I can find off hand of the DE:
The upper half is almost like an inverted spade-shape when the NT-D is activated.
Probably going to hear about what happened at that SEED event today/yesterday (December 1st) in the next 48 hours or so; we'll know what horrors Phase 3.0 portends exactly. Destiny Remaster begins at the end of January off of 2ch's herpaderpery.
Is there really a demand in japan for a Destiny Remaster? Jesus fucking christ...
Well they added in Shinn and the others as cameos during the remaster. So probably.
Despite it taking every one of SEED's flaws and going full-fucking-retard with them, it (including the Gunpla, and other shit besides the DVD/Blu-Rays) sold ridiculously well. That fanbase is now probably well into their 20s (or nearing 30 probably?). Plus the SEED Remaster brought in more money than AGE did if the sales reports are accurate, from that same fanbase and their disposable income.
TL;DR: I don't even doubt that there's a lot of people with shit taste awaiting their turd, now in HD. There's a considerable number of people who enjoy watching shit like SAO, Girls und Panzer, etc. Shouldn't be surprised at this point dude; fucking 2012 and Morosawa self-insert Lacus Sue and Jesus Yamato are still in the top 6-7 of fucking anime magazine character polls.
And you know what? They fucking broke into an orgy of excitement over that; if you feel like subjecting yourself to that shit, go look around on Twitter (or maybe Nico Nico).
Kill with fire.
I really don't want to go off sounding like a hipster saying things like "SEED was better when Mwu actually died or when Destiny didn't exist", but seriously, WHY. WHY. WHY.
And the SEED Remaster beating AGE isn't surprising, AGE seemed like it was designed to fail after how the final time period went. I at least found SEED redeeming in some points near the end except for the whole "Andrew is somehow still alive" thing. And Lacus going SEED mode in the ship for absolutely no reason.
Come on man, that's not even remotely hipster; it's a fucking legitimate complaint. SEED would still be bad, but Destiny is what fucking cemented it as the worst. Lacus is so fucking "Mary Sue" it makes me wretch when people legitimately like her as a character; those fucking Seed-mode powers she inexplicably has too are even worse, Morosawa self-inserted her pure princess so hard. Andrew surviving and being super cool with his lady getting killed by Jesus, and taking orders from the pink-haired pop idol, political genius, and military tactician extraordinare made it even more unbearable. Mwu.. I don't even know anymore man, Murrue is fucking shit and he becomes an incompitent Char.
AGE failed because Hino is awful, and should have been reined in or had some oversight or checks on his shit. It really says something when the episodes he personally wrote are essentially the fucking worst and lowest points of the series. That the guy legitmately believed the problems lay elsewhere on the staff (or even on the non-existant fanbase!) speaks to the reality of things too.
I enjoy the irony that Fllay is actually a legitimately more developed character than Lacus and she is probably not even half as popular as her. Lacus is all about "PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE" yet she has no problems allying herself with military people, stealing 1 experimental suit for Kira that contains sensitive technology that could lead to a nuclear assault if it fell into the racist Earth Federations hands if they ever captured it(which they tried to do, albeit they got the N Jammer Canceller info from Rau after being unsuccessful at it so often), stealing ZAFTs latest ship, and then continues to preach about understanding while sitting on the bridge of said ship with its gigantic main gun. Fllay at least had, you know, character progression. She was insufferable at the start but she at least had a legit reason at some point with watching her dad die, and she eventually felt remorse over her actions to Kira.
Me too. I fully dislike Fllay (she is a bitch and a cunt), yet I wholly consider her a refreshing light-and-day difference from Lacus (being a Mary Sue, Morosawa self-insert with an absurd range of abilities and compitency); I don't even actively look at those fucking character polls or most non-Gundam stuff in general, but every time I catch them on ANN or /m/ Fllay is nowhere to be found.
To be fair, I consider Rau and Azrael to be the heroes (fuck Patrick), they tried to save us from Destiny with genocide of the the population of the CE universe. That said, the fucking Three Ships Alliance is pretty ridiculous at the end of Destiny; in SEED they took some loses at least, the hypocripsy of UNDERSTANDING and possessing Jesus and Assrun beam spam (and warships with giant guns) aside. We've had the understanding vs. UNDERSTANDING discussion before, and 00 is probably the only series that gets it right (though the ELS do complicate this by virtue of being aliens).Lacus is all about "PEACE PEACE PEACE PEACE" yet she has no problems allying herself with military people, stealing 1 experimental suit for Kira that contains sensitive technology that could lead to a nuclear assault if it fell into the racist Earth Federations hands if they ever captured it(which they tried to do, albeit they got the N Jammer Canceller info from Rau after being unsuccessful at it so often), stealing ZAFTs latest ship, and then continues to preach about understanding while sitting on the bridge of said ship with its gigantic main gun. The Earth Federation was really so pathetic in SEED, like they won literally 1 battle which was capturing some Mass Driver in 2 minutes after getting spanked everywhere + at ORB, but yea. Apparently alot of people didn't like Rau as a character or his motives in SEED but he's really one of my favorite characters in that series. He doesn't care that someone is a Natural or a Coordinator, he hates humanity for being what it is, including all this hatred from mere genetics and birth, and wants to kill them all for having created him as a result of all that. Is it grand and sophisticated when compared to the rest of the Gundam villains? No, but considering it was SEED and how terribly written it was they actually make his motive look justified.
And yea the Murasame trio is all levels of broken somehow. Apparently a sorta new ZAFT gundam can't beat 3 grunts when the last set of druggie Gundams killed scores of grunts in beautiful stock footage fashion. At least I remember Chaos dying to them I think.
The Atlantic Federation is like a hamfisted parody of Bush-era America or something, lol. It has to be, I cannot fucking believe Fukuda or Morosawa were capable of making them such (largely incompitent) pieces of murderous, racist shit on their own. Such an overwhelming number of the Blue Cosmos/Logos members being in the Federation probably cement this.
Even if they're only capable of characterizing one side as "good" and the other "bad" (as the finer points of making the Federation, let alone the EA, seem compitent appear to have eluded them) it would have maybe been better to show them as being a capable military force (prior to the nukespam). For being the "major" power in the EA, the Atlantic Federation really seems to derp, and derp hard at multiple points in both CE series (don't know about the manga). The only time they really seem to display any sort of compitency at all (aside from nukespam) is that JOSH-A shit, when they sacrifice the Eurasian Federation forces when the base blows.
Virtually every other member of the EA seems at least slightly more compitent (though that Eurasian Federation Artemis asteroid base bunch really fucking failed balls against Nicol and his piano). On the whole though, the EA was an amazing group of back-stabbing fucking retards; how did "superior" ZAFT fail to beat them? Even the Earth Federation from the UC, at the state it was in during the 0150s could have fucking did these clowns in.
Rau really is one of the best characters; but due to Fukuda and Morosawa mangling things, it actually (as you noted) made his motives really seem justified. If only he'd succeeded.
oh lawd.. Sting; another one of those fucking inexplicable survivors of a fatal explosion, and he was rewarded with one of those awful Destroy Gundams. SEED has abused that fatal explosion surviving shit substantially. But yeah, Azrael's Druggies were more tolerable than the Destiny bunch, stock footage and all.And yea the Murasame trio is all levels of broken somehow. Apparently a sorta new ZAFT gundam can't beat 3 grunts when the last set of druggie Gundams killed scores of grunts in beautiful stock footage fashion. At least I remember Chaos dying to them I think.
Don't even get me started on Mu surviving his heroic death at the end of SEED.
Some dark fucking times ahead for sure, but the Destiny Remaster should be contained to 2013 if they cut out the recap episodes and there aren't any hiatus-forcing occurances.
There's Unicorn Episode 6 of course, and plenty of heavily-demanded Gunpla to help unrustle our GMs from this evil. Probably The Origin too in the Fall/Winter, but it has been awhile since they announced it to damage-control the AGE backlash.
I do not do this social media shit at all, but if you do it might not hurt to drop some comments here:
https://twitter.com/BandaiAmerica/st...94435998785536
Probably has something to do with Bandai Ent. being shut down, the Gundam panel at Otakon going really well and everyone (especially on the JP side) being happy with it, and these weird overtures they're making to the foreign fanbase (probably due to Unicorn being warmly recieved abroad being the main thing that comes to mind). Perhaps they're considering trying again in the US/North America.
If I had to think of anything in particular to toss their way? Turn-A, ZZ, and Victory getting an official release over in North Amercia (subs-only likely of course). I guess maybe responses to the great start for the MG line in 2013 (at least I think its pretty fucking good); maybe seeing if we can get a response on how that HG 1/100 line of MS that would likely never get a MG is going.Spoiler: show
I suppose there's always the push to have them compromise to get Gundam on Toonami too, though Toonami's budget is too small to get it I guess currently.
