Iwork vs Office and Iwork vs Docs to go

Ok on my Mac I'm currently using Office 2011
and on my Ipad I'm using Documents to go.

With the Icloud coming soon I was planning maybe to switch to the Iwork suite for at least the Ipad.

Docs to go is good but it seems a bit hard to work on it.

Iwork seems pretty well done on IOS devices.

    So my question

    1) How good is Iwork 09 on Mac
    2) Should I switch from Office 2011 to Iwork 09?
    3) On Ios Docs to go or Iwork?
    4) If I get Iwork on Ios and/or Mac is it easy to export to Office.

What I mean is if I do a doc on Iwork on IOS or MAC and send it to someone who has office, will they be able to open and work on it? (Of course it will be saved in .doc or .docx) but mostly like if theres setting specific to pages that won<t work when used in Word. Or Numbers and Excel.

    Thanks

My experience is only with the desktop versions. Yes, you can use Excel to open Numbers files and vice versa. There may be some formatting or settings that may not translate but at least the data is there. I have not had had much issue with opening Numbers files using Excel.
