Though it’s not official official, as in there have been no press releases officially announcing the return of Arrested Development for another season on Netflix, series producer Brian Grazer — who runs the Imagine Entertainment along with Ron Howard — told Bill Simmons in a podcast interview today that more episodes are definitely coming.

Unlike previous teases, there was no hemming or hawing about timing, or the schedules of the participants. Grazer merely stated, “We’re going to do another 17 episodes. So, stay tuned for Arrested Development.”

Gotta wonder about the timing though. I know most of them are busy with other projects which if I remember was one of the biggest hurdles last season. Maybe they can film sometime mid spring and then release on Netflix late summer/early fall.

I think it was smart of them to recut Season 4 and make it more linear instead of seeing things from each characters point of view and makes for a better re-watch experience. I wish we knew exactly when Season 5 is coming instead of the vague "soon" and "sometime by summer".

Amazing, I recently saw the recut (only a bit) since I was just curious enough to watch but I'm glad they did it. I'll have to pay more attention the next time I watch it.

Episodes 1-6 were pretty good. Not season 1-3 good, but what can be? Then we build to episode 7/8 and its just...a confusing mess of nothing and

Was Portia just not available for the later episodes shooting schedule? Though I did like Maria Bamford's insert as 'Lindsey' and felt it was very under utilized.

I get splitting Christine Taylor and Ben Stiller up, but both seemed under utilized as well. The whole episode with Gob in the LEM and 'Tony' in the suitcase at the airport could have been done so much better. Also, Sally Sitwell coming off as the overall villain here feels right but was missing a few background appearances to make sense.

Where was Oscar at all through the later episodes? They had a huge thing with George Sr.'s manhood being taken in Mexico and then didn't do anything with Oscar acting much more machismo.

Tony Hale was great.

George Michael and Michael's relationship was just odd. I get the split over Rebel, but that felt resolved at the end of S4 and this felt manufactured. The whole theme of trying to tech each other a lesson just left me asking what the lesson was they were trying to teach each other.

Why the fuck was Murphy Brown even there?

Hopefully a lot of that is resolved in part 2.

Also, when did Alia Shawkat get that massive scar down her left forearm? I can't find anything online about it. You get a really good look at it when she's dying George Michael's hair pink.

She also looks really good in the old lady get-up.

Edit: OHHHHHHHHHH shoot, there is a part 2 to season 5. Okay, that makes a lot more sense.

I enjoyed all 8 episodes but I was totally bamboozled when it ended. I thought it was a full season.
