I see 15 as well..
I see 15 as well..
Bah! I was looking at season 1 ep list ; ;
You can get a netflix trial for a month and then cancel it.. that's what I'm doing >.>
Although for their benefit I will look around and gauge if I would actually ever possibly use netflix as a service, although I doubt it.
I use the hell out of it, they have a really good selection.
I'm six episodes in and I don't know, it's just not very good. Not bad, but the show was at its best when it had the whole family together.
i'm about 6-7 episodes in and while it's not bad it does feel like there something missing. Some of the characters made the transition very well and are just as great as they were in the old episodes while a few (Micheal being the worst offender imho) don't even seem close to what they once were.
First couple episodes were really not that great but 5+ are fantastic. Gob and Tobias episodes are the best.
I'm really enjoying it. I appreciate how complex the story telling is and I'm genuinely enjoying it. There are definitely some parts I'm not thrilled by, and there's a bit on the nose with some of it's fan service jokes, but there's also a lot of layers to enjoy.
This is fucking awesome
Now I have to wait for a goddamn movie.
Fuck.
BEES
my life is complete
Up to episode 5. Portia has not aged well at all, but the short hair does help. I half wonder if they're putting emphasis on her nose a bit though via make-up.
Splitting the family so far has been good and bad imho. You don't get all of the family playing off each other, but I'm hoping they eventually build into that and get back to that if they do a season 5. Getting into all the backstories during the time jump has been done well, and outside of the slightly slow start in the first 2 episodes i can tell it's picking up and the writing is still sharp.
Only thing I'm not really sure of yet is all the cameos. The old running ones like with Andy and Conan, Carl Weathers, etc are neat. But throwing John Krasinski in there, etc, seems a little off and out of place.
It's holding its own even when compared to the original series though, which to me is impressive. I can't remember a show really being resurrected like this and I'm impressed.
More Maria Bamford though, please.
The show gets amazingly better as the story develops and the episodes go on. It is a bit disappointing not having them all together that much, but it makes the moments the story intertwine and they do come together that much better. Top notch story telling and wordplay just like the original, and I agree with Kirin that this is probably the best resurrection a once cancelled show has had. I was a bit skeptical at first because show resurrections are usually not as good as the original, but this completely blew me with how well done it is.
I was afraid that the revival was going to be bloated with constant "Hey, remember this?!" moments, so I was surprised that A) they made good use of new material, and B) the callbacks felt logically inserted into the plot and not just shoehorned for fan pandering. The only exception would be the giant "HER?" sign.
But one thing that bothers me... George Michael said he never met Lucille 2, but weren't they both at the Valentine's Day/Anniversary party in season 1? And he thought Buster was nursing her before that.
Yeah the style of the show lends to it getting better with every extra piece of information provided in the right context.
EDIT: Wow... wrong thread by a mile
Lost my shit at Lindsey's episode. Coooooooincidence, "That's not a coincidence!" Yeeessssss it is. Yeah, she looks weird, what happened to her anyway?
finished last night and it did get quite a bit better later on. I still feel like Micheal story line was a bit out of touch with what his character use to be but once they sorta shy'd away from him it got much better. Also is it just me or is the girl that plays Ann only like 3 feet tall.
