God damn Eliminators everywhere while two wyverns pelt me with magic from the other side of the map.

woo killed Daimon stage 2. Only took about an hour to kill both versions at lv90. Though I did use up about 9 wakestones. Had only 1 left in the end. Used up far too many of them figuring out that you did not want to put any distance between you and him.

My first time fighting, I was scared of doing too much damage too fast for fear of losing my pawns. But then I found out that him doing that move was the best thing that could happen since he gets stunned if you can knock him out of it and every time he gets stunned, I manage to take of nearly 3 bars of health.
Too bad I can only manage to do "too much damage" on his second form when I have an enchantment and the mage with the enchantment was being really really stingy with using them.

bah. There's the same item in two of the Moonbeam doors. Just got the ring that prevents dampness again.

Apart from this guys mega annoying voice, maybe the moonbeam doors work the same way as uncursing gear? Being on a specific job would net different results?

Hm interesting about the cursed gear. Makes sense now that I think about it now though as I've been uncursing gear on the same vocations every time and I've been running into duplicates for a while now and I've never gotten a single piece of mage gear. (I've been assassin, pawn has either been warrior or fighter.


I don't think the Moonbeam chests work that way as they are a 1 time only chest. At least I don't think they respawn.

And here's that map I'm trying to build. Added the item I got from my run last night. If you have opened a door I did and got something different, that's a way to prove it.
Anyone else have anything else to add to it?

If you need an easy means of curbstomping the Reaper, Blast Arrows and Tenfold (preferable, not sure if Fivefold can pump out enough firepower to floor it) or Fivefold Flurry are the way to go. With Conqueror's and Demon's Periapts (x4) on, it gets wrecked badly. At 200, 120 Arrows delivered via Tenfold and it's as good as over - every other volley staggers and floors it.

Sorcerer isn't so great against it due to the casting times being such a major drawback (although if you can get the drop on it, who knows - if you have Impact on it might be enough to stagger/stun..). I don't know if MK's Magic Cannons can put out enough damage to floor it either; I would assume having Impact on is probably necessary here as well.

I guess i'll go after the other gear sets now. Then do all of it over on my 2nd character; the disparity between what was originally "well geared" in vanilla DD (Abyssal, some other shit) for Sorcerer then... is kinda lulzy now. It's still better than nothing, but you get some pretty extensive boosts from the top-tier equipment; my Pawn and I are pushing well past 3.2k in Strength or Magic alone from gear with NQ and HQ STR or MAG Augments.

Very nice dude I'm 2/4 atm, doing run throughs to do the Assassin and Warrior set for 4/4 uncursing stuff is just being a pain and getting repeats of what I already have.

Sorc doesn't do its best damage by casting anything aside from affinities. Correct affinity + charge up core skill = best DPS (and its damn good for stagger too)

Issue here though, is that (if anecdotal evidence is to be believed) the Reaper doesn't really seem to have any particular elemental weakness, so that may screw things up (though IIRC, that Affinity damage is a stacking thing with the attack itself). Probably something to test.

We know Maelstrom certainly does no damage at all, and Bolide certainly works (though that's probably more due to those meteorites doing physical damage). Dark is clearly out - leaving the other elements in question for a properly geared Sorcerer. Lightning, Ice, and Fire do damage (just not particularly great damage), so that kind of makes the Affinity route suspect if this stuff holds through. I don't think any of these things were actually tested in any capacity, sadly, and it's probably gonna be awhile before I could even get around to it. It seems like alot of people tried the obvious one (Holy), but the consensus was that it wasn't particularly effective (counter intuitive..) last I saw the topic discussed. Curiously, Radience is supposed to work on it, so that would mean it is undead (though that might be about all we know).

I haven't checked, but there isn't any way to get multiple saves going is there? I know you can only have 1 save per character, but is there a way to have another character aside from creating a new psn account?
I want to mess around with a fresh sorcerer but don't want to lose my assassin.

You don't actually 'need' a new PSN account but you do need a separate profile on your PS3.
If you want people to be able to rent both pawns you will need a second PSN though.

Also, Holy Affinity is great even when you're neutral because it tracks and when you do the core attack there's a LOT of knockback. I don't have Dark Arisen so I can't comment on any of that content (don't care either) but I know that with Holy Affinity and not even using Impact with Dragon's Risen and Barbed Nails equipped I am able to keep Ur in stunlock for most of the fight. Its actually pretty hilarious.

Even on neutral element enemies, pound for pound my charged shots do tons of damage. Far more than my spells considering the time it takes to cast them (this is even with the Wyrmking's Ring and Articulacy, its even worse without them both.)

High Fulmination is probably the exception to the rule but I honestly never use it.



EDIT: Also, randomly... does anyone on PSN have a Max STR pawn? I'm making a Max Stamina pawn and I want to have both on my save as Ranger to do some Great Gamble testing. If not, I will probably just make one myself when I do get Dark Arisen but I figure someone else has probably already done the legwork.

Yeah, only way to do it is with an original DD save.
I'm not giving up my disc when the price of DA drops low enough for me to feel like buying it (probably around $10, like what it would probably cost if BBI came out as DLC)

I'm also really annoyed that's how they decided to handle the extra stuff. "Those of you who already bought the game will get extra perks to make it up to you!"
Yet all you need is a single save from the game that you could have just rented or borrowed from a friend and played for just a single minute and once you do get your perks, you have to keep the game forever because if you want to start a fresh new game, first you have to put in your old dragon's dogma game, start up a fresh game on that, save, quit, then put Dark Arisen back in and start up a fresh new game? Fucking lame.
I knew I'd regret buying the game again. I was thinking, oh they're making people pay $40 for dlc that would probably cost $15-$20 tops on its own. Yet playing DA for the first time through, I didn't regret it at first, but now I fucking do so goddamn much.


hmm according to my PS3, I still have the base Dragon's Dogma save data still in my ps3. Game still doesn't give me shit for it though.

I still stand by my rant, but I did find a work around.
I still had an untainted Dragon's Dogma save from the base game in the psn+ cloud. I deleted the save files on my ps3 then moved over the original save from the cloud. started up the game and I got the message telling me I got the extras.

So, my level 4 pawn now has knowledge of nearly every enemy type, every quest and every location.
Someone used my original pawn for a very long time apparently. I deleted that character though and created a new one and just rested at the inn for the first time.
I didn't get an RC from it, but I did get his gift (fuligin ore), knowledge of 69 unknown foes, 47 unknown quests and 15 unknown locations.
I only just now did the hydra fight at the beginning. Too bad no RC, it probably would have been a shit load.

It only gives you the perks if you import the save, not if you just have it. Starting a new game gets no benefits in DA.
Its probably possible to download a fresh save off the net or something.
If need be you could just use the metamorphosis item to customize your Arisen.
