In addition to all the crossfit tropes, I know of no less than seven people that have managed to injure themselves at the local crossfit gtm. One managed to downswing a 24kg kettlebell straight into a knee.

Too many under-qualified crossfit trainers getting pumped out and it scares me. I've been getting into oly lifts for the last year and seeing how vastly important proper technique is I cry in horror every time I see some crossfit fail video of people coming inches away from having muscle groups getting turned into confetti. Then again it's much easier to get away with that with a <50 kg C&J to my 120 kg.

Agree, I blame HQ for that, a 2 day course and people think they are legit coaches...I'm trying my very best to educate people on the importance of form and technique before they start smashing PRs...CrossFit originally is a wonderful concept in my opinion, unfortunately, SOME people have the impression that it is just about pain and crazy workouts.

CFit definitely gets more shit than necessary due to the people who suck at it and the trainers that they have that are batshit horrible.

That said, I can't get into the reps per unit time thing on a personal level. I'm all down to see who can do the most pull ups, but when my pull ups are 2.5-3 seconds per rep, of course I'm going to do half as many as the guy throwing them out one a second lol
