Driving from East Texas to Arizona on Thursday and am in dire need of something to load on ye old MP3 player (pod casts and such). Also, any insight to the current perils of the road. I'm going up From Dallas to Amarillo then across the barren wasteland of New Mexico then down through the charred remains of eastern AZ.

I also have't gone this way before, I'm hoping its less monotonous than the 15 hours of bullshit NOTHING you get after Ft Worth taking I20 to I10. Seriousy, I look foward to midland/odessa on those trips. MIDLAND.

I'd suggest some audio books- David Sedaris is a pretty funny writer and some of his shit is just absurd. I'd recommend Holidays on Ice, which includes family favorites like The Santa Land Diaries and Dinah the Christmas Whore. Sandra Tsing Loh is pretty funny too, but if you have a penis, it might not be for you.

Thats easier to do when you know what/where stuff is along the way. I have a bladder the size of a child, so I'm already pulling over every hour for a quick stop regardless. I'm all ears for suggests of places to stop and nosh though, I'll gladly take awesome over 'that looks interesting' followed a couple days later by dysentery.
