There was a 5.8 earthquake just south of DC, in Virgina. I felt it for about a minute straight up in CT, was really weird, having never felt one before. Was just a light little sway, but damn that was weird

I felt it too maybe 10 minutes ago east of Pittsburgh. Thank god i'm not crazy, felt like somebody was moving my chair back and forth. first quake!
Oh wow, It wasn't in my head.
I'm in Ohio here, and my bed started to shake pretty badly, First time i felt an earthquake. I ran downstairs and walked outside just because i didnt want to be part of a house sandwich.
But yah, It felt like someone grabbed my bed and started shaking it, bout shit myself.
Felt it here in Roanoke, which is far SW of DC. My office is on a mezzanine I was pretty sure was coming down for about 10 seconds. Crazy shit.
Just felt it about 10 minutes ago. Lasted about 20 seconds and wasn't very exciting. People in my office started panicking and running around the damn office and going outside. Some lady fainted in the parking lot when it hit, lol.
we felt it in NYC, we're up over 20 stories and it shook our building from side to side in harmonic motion. we all thought we were just dizzy and it made us nauseous until we heard the walls start creaking. that was... very weird
RIP tyven.
death by haircut
heard it went from VA to Toronto
Felt it pretty strongly here in Raleigh, NC. Glasses tinkling in the cabinet and all that.
Edit: Well, pretty strongly in relation to the fact that I've never felt even the slightest tremble in the 10+ years I've been here.
Also felt it in NYC. I didn't even notice until someone in my 16th floor office shouted that we're having a earthquake.
That felt so damn weird, lasted prolly a minute to 2 minutes here, in central connecticut
White House, capitol, and Pentagon all evacuated
Hmm. The power in my building (Dallas,TX) went out briefly not too long ago... coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Shockwaves.
5th story in Manhattan. Felt my chair moving side to side and thought my cat was attacking it. When saw she wasn't thought nothing of it till I saw the news.
Was so minor.
First quake I have felt in MD and actually knew it was a quake as it happened. Lasted about 30s or so but it was just a long rumble. Still weak compared to the 2 quakes I have felt while I was in Cali on vacation. My cats bolted in all directions as I stood there thinking, coooool, oh shit fan, I should move two feet, coooool.
Didn't feel a thing here in RI, but friends from FL to VT are saying they felt it. My buddies who live just outside of Washington DC are cleaning up stuff that went flying off their shelves (which isn't good, cuz they have all kinds of old collectible beer bottles & pint glasses n shit)
Friend that lives in Altavista, VA text me as it happened and then I saw on Facebook a friend that lives in Philly felt the shocks. Crazy.
we felt it a little south of boston somehow. both my boss and i were like "am i twitching or did the building just move" then i see the online reports
Feet still shaking, Frederick, MD mother fucking quake!
