Apparently that's not always the case, cause my brown belt MNK is gimp as hell and he still hasn't seen fit to grant me either the egg or the tongue. I might as well post myself here just for shits and giggles. Gonna take a while to remedy my gimpness though, it sucks to come back to the game and find almost all the people you knew gone.

My only option would be to purchase the items. It's not really a problem gil wise, I just hate to do it that way. It took me 12 orbs, 3 of which were Kindred Crests converted into Seals, so 1800 seals total just to get the tongue.

Should have used your seals to get the egg, and just bought tongue/beard. People still spam behemoth/wyrm for abjurations/dring, so you can get those items free/cheap. Turtle on the other hand is only done for the egg, so it's difficult to find a seller, and if you do, it's going to cost you quite a bit. I've seen people shouting to buy for 6-8m on my server for weeks at a time.

I find players using npc / mob / other ff games' characters names to be pretty aggravating too.

No no. The true meaning of "God loves gimps" is that if you have two groups fighting NMs, if one of the groups sucks the NM will use the weakest weapon skills possible to let them gimp through the fight.

Dont forget that being gimp is also Treasure Hunter+100 and drastically increases your luck on getting high lots.

Have you seen his THF? This guy is in the same LS as me. He's just a random strangler that turns up to nothing. That LS has a good amount of decent players but the leader Kidalien just invites random as fuck gimps in hopes they abide to his huge slavery scheme lol. There's a lot worse in that LS, like the WAR that uses double axes and doesn't gear swap.. or the full +1 Mandau THF we had who got all mayad and cried because we wouldn't invite him to our Neo-Nyzul static. Theres about 5-6 really cool and competent players the rest are his (The leader) slaves basically lol. I'm just in it for social purposes we have fun on Skype.

Two nights ago, one of our members decided to brew spectators in [a] Uleguerand Range, for their Ice staff trials. He brewed every trial after that (sometimes even twice). I was going to come on a mule and cure unlock, but I realized the fact that they used brews (plural) to do their ice Staff trials was punishment enough. Today they said they're quitting if they can't nuke over 5k with their staff in abyssea. Full +1, only decent atma is beyond.

But regardless, there is small group of players on the ls who are fun to talk to and shit around with. And the LS head definitely is the most selfless leaders I've seen on the game. He constantly getting clears and wins on basic content for players who wouldn't be able to do it themselves. So I sometimes have to bite my tongue or laugh about things to myself.

First off, you can tell who is who from the lower right corner. Second of all, you think the biggest fail is something other than exiting at floor 10?

So now people whine about vent being a "third party program" that gives people "unfair advantages" over others?

Is this new, or is it something that is mostly contained in the FFXI community as I have been gone from it for a while now. I've not seen this before.

If a GM were to see that log, "I'm not going with vanilla XI" "AT LEAST voicechat" is clearly indication that you DON'T use vanilla XI and you use MORE third party tools for nyzul (a known exploited event by SE) and you would be swiftly banned. Doesn't matter what I think or what any player thinks about third party tools. SE doesn't care. Regardless, he was being a whiny little princess and you don't time out on floor 10 because you don't have voicechat. Blame it on bad luck/crappy players/etc. but it has nothing to do with not using voicechat. Some people type way faster than they speak, for one. You can reach 100 without it. So princessing about that is pretty lol
