The "Oh shit, that's on netflix streaming now?" Thread/Netflix Suggestion

Just slogged my way through Cursed. It was like a bloodier version of Merlin and not in a good way. The storylines were bipolar, the acting not brilliant and I just didn’t care about any of the characters. About the only one I could stomach was Merlin himself. I don’t recommend watching this show!

Can’t wait for Umbrella Academy 2 as a palate cleanser.

Thats a shame. From the description it looks like it was going to be a cool take on either Caliburn, Caledfwyltch, or Secase. My first impression is that shes supposed to be some Morgan LeFay and Lancelot hybrid moreso than a different take on Lady of the Lake.

I would say watch the first episode. If it hooks you, that’s great, but if it doesn’t, don’t bother watching the rest, it won’t get any better. I wanted to believe it would, but it was too YA for my tastes.

Yeah, Cursed was pretty meh for me, too. Granted I've never read any "official" takes on Arthurian legend, from what I cumulatively know of various iterations is that they played pretty fast and loose on name dropping. Arthur being some 20+ old orphan merc/bandit whose sister is Morgana is just the tip of the iceberg on wut.

I thought Cursed was not bad at all. I agree the acting at points where pretty meh. Merlin was def the best. I liked the different take on the story. Def not for everyone lol

Few likable characters, but lots of hate-able characters. There were some wtf moments also

You didn't mention it is a period piece from a time when feudal Japan was an occupying force in the 1500s, underselling it tbh

Watched Transformers on Netflix it is okay, not the best, the story wasn't spectacular, it was enjoyable but wouldn't really recommend to those who are not already fans. Should’ve been 12 episode to expand the story and fleshing out the lore with the Decepticons starting as a downtrodden revolutionary movement and Megatron losing sight of his original goal of uplifting his people.

Half way through, not bad.

Finished it last night. It was short, but it was fine. It did feel like they could have covered more, but I think the show's producers didn't anticipate the lack of shit to talk about for a inner-city college versus a small town college where football is life. That entire class of kids sure did get fucked by the pandemic.

Animation for the most part was solid. I felt it was a little stiff in the first episode, but overall was good. It definitely had a Zack Snyder feel with how dreary everything looked due to the toll of war on the planet.
