What the fuck was that shit with Engelland stopping Fleury's ENG chance? lol
What the fuck was that shit with Engelland stopping Fleury's ENG chance? lol
There's no way Engelland finishes with 0 goals this year. He always gets the puck on net, no matter what. He's an offensive defenseman sleeper prodigy.
I would appreciate it greatly if the league would release a statement clarifying once and for all the proper goddamn way to say Zidlicky's name and mandate that all broadcasters adhere to it.
goddammit I love JR, goes off on a huge rant about how Crosby gets interviewed every day on how he still isn't skating
JR should punch Crosby in the head.
I wonder what kind of suspension the person who re-concusses Crosby will get.
Prob jail time for damaging a national treasure.
I still can't believe the mother fucking providence of Quebec wasted tax payer dollars to investigate the criminal legality of Chara's hit on Pacioretty.... BEYOND ridiculous.
SAS is the goddamn best.
Mattias Ohlund out for 6 weeks or so after surgery on both knees.
a) I forgot he was even still around.
b) He hasn't scored a goal since signing in T-Bay 2 seasons ago. Probably the reason for "a"
c) Tampa's got 4 more years of him after this on pace for 0 goals.
Stu Grimson is a drunk looking for attention and a pay check he can cash at a liquor store. Leave Cherry alone. LONG LIVE GRAPES!!!
Late but I was there too, some musings:
- Really impressed with the way Johansson came out like gangbusters. Seems the message BB tried to send by scratching him for game one was effective. Also didn't mind Perreault on the wing, although his talents are somewhat wasted on the checking line. Ideally I'd like him at third line wing but I wouldn't want to push Ward down, and you can't move NHL league leading goal scorer Jason Chimera. (lol)
- Vokoun... sweet mother Mary was it an up and down game. Seemed like every routine play where they would just fling it into the crease from the sideboards would hit just the right skate or stick (sometimes Vokoun's) and go in. But once he settled down, he made some great stops, especially in OT, and especially during the 4-on-3. But still, five goals allowed, and welcome to a goalie controversy. I told all you fuckers that you hadn't heard the last of Neuvirth (and maybe Holtby.)
- I think the best goal of the night team-wise was the Brouwer deflection. You have Ward camped out in front, Jeff fucking Schultz actually showing some offensive initiative, and Brouwer with the perfect stick placement. Ward was out with the second line for that goal, but the third line of Chimera-Laich-Ward has just been sick so far. Along with Alzner-Carlson they seem to be out for every key moment. Hope this portends good things to come for that group.
- Sasha may care, but Ovie, I just don't know right now. Game one, the top line looked good, but against Tampa, not so much. I think his mind is still on his family after his uncle passed away. Hope he gets his head on straight before Pittsburgh tomorrow.
Apparently I made a mistake drafting Ovie first and should have taken Cooke or Chimera
For nervous Vokoun owners (including myself):
Also Jorn, I wouldn't worry about Ovie too much. Monday was a weird game for a lot of reasons, but with how wide open it seemed at times, you'd like to see a bit more from him. The biggest thing I saw against Carolina was moving him off the point and to the sideboards on the power play, where he can drive the net a lot more. Should be a good move for him.http://a1.twimg.com/profile_images/6...rs1_normal.png@JapersRink JapersRink
Coming into tonight, Vokoun was 3-8-0-1/3.39/.884 in his first starts of the season throughout his career. Always ended up fine. Worry not.
Thank fucking god, i spent the last 2 hours going over my teams and i was on the fence about him. I'll ride him a couple more weeks to see how he's doing.
Pic on PD just now, lol:

So since Ive been up since 6:30 am going over fantasy leagues rather then doing actual work, what do ya guys think of my moves I made since I'm still in tired.
For my Yahoo league I tossed Tomas Kaberle for Sheldon Souray, Patric Hornqvist for Daniel Alfredsson. I think the big risk with dropping Christian Ehrhoff for the young kid Yannick Weber, I liked his play in the Winnipeg game on defense, but then again it was the Jets. But I also like what he had to say about getting switch down on D, "It's twice in a row and it gives me a chance to prove that they're wrong," but only time will tell with this one.
My goalies pretty much fucked me this week though. I had Cam Ward and Tomas Vokoun against, Ilya Bryzgalov and Kari Lehtonen. So I got fucked over hard there unless a miracle can happen. I might pick up Semyon Varlamov next week if things don't improve for one of them.
For the BG ESPN league I made some moves this morning also. I'll start off with the "just woke up, didn't quite know what I was thinking" move. I dropped Samuelsson, for Richard Park since I was puck drunk off him after last game. I also dropped Bouwmeester, and Val Filppula. While I think Val Filppula is due for a breakout season since he'll be skating with Zetterberg and Frazen, but I don't think it's going to start for him yet not at least until mid November. I picked up Joffrey Lupul, he didn't play that much last season, 28 games after being traded, but he put up 18 points, since he'll be matched up with Kessel that should lead to plenty of assist this season. I also grabbed P.A. Parenteau since he looks like he is going to repeat his points that he had last season under the lead of a new coach who had some decent successes in the AHL.
Like Souray. Meh about Alfredsson. I wouldn't drop Ehrhoff. If you can carry three goalies, pick up Varly nao. When he's healthy, he's ridiculous. Of course Colorado isn't that great but he should have good ratios.
Won't give you ESPN BG advice since I'm competing against you. :D
