Tampa didn't play 1-3-1 at all from what I watched of the game and had an active forecheck going, which was working decently for a bit.

I hadn't really looked at the all-star ballots previously, but honestly how on earth was Versteeg left off? The guy is having a monster year so far and it's not like that's brand new, he was the entire time the ballot was being formed as well...

Of course they didn't 1-3-1, Leafs scored within a minute of the start of the game, and no forecheck is pants-on-head-retarded when you're playing from behind.

And yea, I am srs, because Tampa is bottom 10 in the league for any relevant defensive stat, so standing around and watching them clog the neutral zone is pretty fuckin' pointless when their goals allowed/shots allowed is so high...

I mean, the book is out - Get the puck in Tampa's zone and they're below average. Tampa's given up 67 goals this year so the book must be making it around.

Other news of the day: Doughty fined $2500 for cross-checking, Stars captain Brendan Morrow will miss the game against the Kings at the least due to a UBI - Tomas Vincour will play the top line. Grabovski is expected back within a week with a leg injury, and James Reimer is travelling and practising with the Leafs, still no expected return besides "soon-ish".

I somehow get the feeling that Dan Bylsma is a 100x cooler dad than Bruce. Both probably have very finite time to spend with their children, and I'm not counting the Stanley Cup ring Dan has but Bruce doesn't....
