Releases 12/22 in Japan, no US date announced yet, but I'm pretty sure we'll get this one as well considering we got WO1/2.

As detailed earlier, the Warriors Orochi sequel will feature over 120 characters. Included are characters from Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, the two series for which Musou Orochi is considered a crossover. The original characters that appeared in past Musou Orochi games will also appear here. Tecmo Koei is also promising characters from outside the Musou/Warriors series. Details will be shared later.

The basic gameplay appears to remain the same -- you form a team of three generals whom you switch off between as you fight. The game will add new features, including three member team attacks and "switch combos" where you switch off attacks between your three members.

Via the game's "Musou no Senjo" (Musou Battlefield) feature, players will be able to create custom scenarios, and upload them for other players to play and comment on. Famitsu's print article says that the scenarios can be customized from existing scenarios. It's unclear if you can actually create new scenarios from scratch.

Considering the fact that this is a main/numbered title, it's hard to believe we won't get it. I could understand if it wasn't, though. We've got DW1-7, SW1-3, WO1-2, DWG1-3 all in english, so I don't see why they'd make WO3 JP only all of a sudden, but hey, there's a first time for everything.

Tecmo Koei has some major collaborations in the works for Musou Orochi 2. Famitsu reveals this week that Ninja Gaiden's Ryu Hayabusa, Troy Musou's Achilleus and Blade Storm's Jeanne d'Arc will appear in the game.

The characters will be joined by collaborative stages. Ryu's stage is Anegawa.

Tecmo Koei announced today it will bring Warriors Orochi 3, known as Musou Orochi 2 in Japan, to North America on March 20, 2012 and to Europe on March 30. The cross-over hack-n-slash features over 120 playable characters, including appearances from Ninja Gaiden, Warriors: Legends of Troy, Bladestorm, Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll and Dead or Alive.

The game follows a group of brave warriors, whose universe is threatened by a colossal eight-headed hydra, as they travel back in time to build an army and defeat the beast.

It introduces an all-new bond system, “where the bonds between characters can be increased by interaction in banquets, fighting together as allies, rescuing struggling allies, and accepting then clearing missions in battles.” Bonds can also affect storyline, and unlock extra attacks and stages.

Players are able to customize existing scenarios and share them online after clearing the stage in Story or Free Mode. You’ll be able to alter voice lines, characters and more.

The game also features three-character tag team battles, two-player split-screen co-op, a two-player online Story and Free mode, and a number of character categories and player actions.

I'm hesitant. HUGE DW fan, but I got burned by 6/7 with the shitty fucking attack systems. Everyone having the same moveset killed the games for me. If each character has a unique moveset in this, im down, day 1. Xiahou Dun/Ma Chao/Ryu combo ftw.

I am looking forward to it. I liked the first Orochi game. The 2nd didn't stick out for me. I hope this one blows the other two away.

To me, 6 is like the three Star Wars movies that came out in the 90s... it doesn't exist. 7 I liked. Though 5 seems to fit my style more (I keep replaying DW5: Empires whenever I feel like slashing things).
