Are you trying on a fresh install of windows? Have you installed the update i mentioned above? All you should need to do is run the program, click install, and you're done.

I've been using non-genuine for a long ass time lol, not sure if I installed that update or not, though

If you've been updating and didn't specifically stop it, then you probably did. You'll need to reinstall windows for it to work.

If it's the same update I'm thinking of, from what I recall it was usually unchecked by default in windows update and needed to be manually added.

i had to go into repair mode and use the command prompt for it to work. its in the read me file^^
