Laptop not picking up ps3 controllers when plugged in.

Title pretty much explain it all, I have all the necessary drivers and have tried all of the usb ports. Like, I plug it in and the four lights on top of the controller will flash for about 30 seconds then shut down. Can't calibrate can't do anything, any ideas and or tips? Please and thank you

I think there is a button on the back to reset the controller. Have you tried that? Have you checked to see if cable is bad or controller actually charged? Sounds stupid, but sometimes you get lucky and overlook a really simple problem.

You're using motioninjoy drivers? Cause if so you're only able to use the controller when connected to the same port you loaded the drivers for.

For sure, I'm doing that, I was using SIXAXIS controller last night. I'm trying it with dualshock 3 and the lights still flashing so that's a good sign, going to keep fiddling with it and hope for some progress, ty for the input. Much appreciated

I think you need to reinstall the drivers for every controller. I've only ever tried with one controller though.
