Is there any proof that Vougier's Contus effects ALL jumps? On every other piece of gear which is labeled "Jump:EFFECT" it only effects jump itself, and not spirit jump etc, while all the other JA affecting gear have "High Jump:" "Spirit Jump:" "Soul Jump:" etc seems odd for Vougier Contus to effect all forms of Jump without being labeled differently.

Any ideas anyone? I'm 5/5 merited into it atm, should I drop a tier and try to track my delay?

Any confirmations if skillup foods will work for Automatons? I want to get my PUP geared up a little better for lvl99 standards (full AF3+2 isn't cutting it anymore, trying to get a Toci's and other hard-to-obtain bits), but fuck me if skilling the pet isn't taking forever even with Percolator attachment. Only got 25 magic skill levels with my pet essentially spamming buffs/debuffs while I was in a group farming 30 merits. 8 more lvls shy of casting Bliz5 on blm frame with my gear/merits, but I also got a good hundred lvls to go for capping melee/range as well.

And then there's SMN Magic skill. I'm not one to abuse 3rd-party tools and just afk-skill it like most folk do, and I've yet to find a decent means of getting it up other than using BPs on stupidly high-lvl NMs, which unfortunately is Voidwatch, which I'm never called as SMN for to begin with outside of PUGs. If only you could get skillups in WoE.....



Also, worth bothering lvling PLD if you have no plans of doing Aegis or Ochain? Trying to decide between it or DNC for my next job, but PLD to me feels like a WAR situation where if you're going to lvl it, you better have the fucking OP item it's typically associated with. I tend to be finicky with jobs I level, and preferably like to gear them as well as I can outside of relic/emps or stupid-rare drops.

has any new info been released/discovered concerning the 99 relic/mythic trials? last i heard mythic item drops from PW, relic item was suspected to drop from the HQ mega in tav but was unconfirmed. i know neither trial has been released yet, but at first it was stated that 1000 of the appropriate item was needed, then it dropped to 500 at some point, but possibly just for mythic not relic? if nothing else, did anyone confirm the relic upgrade item drops in tav?

My only suggestion for automaton magic would be the Beadeaux trick. Head to one of the things that curse you, engage a mob, get hate and move it away from your automaton (keep it within range of the curse aura). Your automaton will spam cursna on you. Decent way if you plan to alt-tab while doing it. Of course it would be easier with a windower/spellcast setup, but you said you don't want that.

As for ranged attacks I heard you can pile on MDT and earth resistance atmas then take it to the worms in Abyssea-Uleguerand. I haven't tested that, but it sounds feasible.

I'm in the same situation as you, but I've been to lazy to skil up.

Worms on ulegerand with earth wyrm, mounted champion, and gnarled horn for the racc provided by the 50 agi, plus steam jacket makes your automaton impossible to kill by the worms. You can let it shoot and afk, or use barrage turbine and do water wind water or wind water wind for more attacks, extra defense, and more potency to percolator.

Still painfully slow.

It's magic so can resist, same as a physical WS can miss. Concider a half damage wildfire the same as a sam missing fudo. Concider a 1/4 dmg wildfir the same as a sam missing shoha.
