Couldn't find it explicitly stated but bst af3+2 bonus and killer instinct are factored seperate KI first and that KI adds dmg both in the straight 15% plus the dmg boost with af3 from it's killer effects. So on random lvl 0 bees nothing would be 441 af3+2 body would be 463 (+5% dmg) with killer instinct and no af3 it's 507 (15%) but with both it's 567 (~28.5%)... so 441*1.15 = 507 *1.12 (Floor)10 base vermin killer +15 from KI/2))= 567

Raider's Vest +2 Augments Conspirator: "Allows the player at the top of the Enmity list to gain the benefits of Conspirator"

Check test vs a single VT crab in Foret.
    482 Accuracy = High Evasion.
    483 Accuracy = Neutral Evasion.
    482 + Conspirator = High Evasion.
Raider's Vest remained equipped at all times.

    Conclusion:
EITHER Raider's Vest +2's Augment does not transfer over the accuracy.
OR Raider's Vest+2's Augment has no effect on Conspirator used when solo.

I'll repeat the test later in a party with 2 players on hate list to see which it is.
Will then try to narrow down Conspirator's accuracy bonus afterwards.

So either Formless ignores the PDT/BDT/MDT term entirely or uses BDT term. I'm guessing BDT personally, but I haven't seem much evidence tbh. I think BDT makes the most sense because players have reported damage reduction and the only other source of damage reduction (specific to formless) would be the BDT term (Ignores Damage Type).

Try with Chiblast/Atonement too. I guess that means Volatile Matamata takes increases damage to both Breath and Magic when hit with physical only? But what doesn't make sense is that when you hit him with magic it also resets the damage to formless--which is now considered breath perhaps?

Mougu's tests seemed to indicate that enhanced damage and damage reduction were different terms. This makes sense when you consider the damage of spells against Umbril than seem to have some sort of inherent reduction against magic, but grant 2x damage to certain elements (ex: Meteor does 1.75x the normal meteor damage).

I think I actually did an atonement on it and dmg did increase after doing melee but didn't do enough testing to see if it is merely lumped in together with magic or a 3rd seperate category nor how it effected the dmg after next tp move mostly cause pops were impossible to find at that time lol. Antedoctal and such but a few regular fights from before I remember even when magic dmg was meh or sucky the pld always seemed to get good atonements. But then again I didn't know matamata's have built in +bdt back then

    Did some tests with Kimora:

Chi, Mijin, Heat Breath, Spirits Within, Nether Blast, and Souleater (maybe) bypass Elemental Sforzo
    Meteor didn't bypass Elemental Sforzo

Formless Strikes also does not work against the Physical Shield that Hydra uses. I found this out the other day when duoing Walk of Echoes Conflux #5

It's actually been this way since Hydra monsters were released. The one in Zhayolm Remnants II is an exception in that it does work there, but every other Hydra it doesn't.

Salvage II mobs don't carry their normal resistances (ex: No piercing penalty). Have you tried formless outside of the shield? I know Abyssea Hydra NMs grant breath resistance atmas, so I'm curious if this is just an immunity issue.

Hydra definitely isn't immune to breath damage. Delphyne breathes for damage both with and without Magic Shield.

I know that hydras have a very strong natural resistance to blue magic, but I've always noticed that breaths, in particular, are resisted substantially but they aren't immune.

Due to recent developments I notice that I never finished informing people about Requiescat's attack penalty points, and thus BGWiki's got the wrong information on. 100TP = 20%, 200TP = 10%, 300TP = 0% penalty.

Unfortunately I did the tests so long ago that I have no idea where I stored most of the data for them and thus only have the conclusions, so this is based on my word alone I suppose. 20/10/0 = absolutely the correct values that I found.

You can give your Wyvern Rune Enchantment with Empathy. Kinda neat, though mostly useless and underwhelming. If Shark's shield drops from # of thunder attacks, could go DRG/RUN and have you and your Wyvern with enthunder hitting, otherwise the damage is puny, like 10-15 damage with 2 runes.

    Break WS testing

This is a placeholder until I feel like checking again... but I don't think anything changed as far as the additional effect proc rate so checking duration would be a waste of time

Last time I checked full duration seems to be 180/360/720 seconds at 100/200/300 TP and half-resist is 90/180/360. However I used mainly Full Break so durations may not apply to the others.

A brief history of break WS:
(April 2011) The dev skeleton crew were planning updates to break WS: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...4644#post84644

(August 2011) My break WS testing: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/103...=1#post4753362

(November 2012) Other break WS testing: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...l=1#post379756

Edit: actual testing below (not much; testing this shit sucks)

TL;DR: testing this shit sucks; Full Break seems to have a longer duration 200-300 TP (max 12 minutes) than the other breaks (max 9 minutes, probably). Magic accuracy doesn't seem to affect the overall proc rate. The unresisted proc rate for Full Break may differ from that for the other break WS based on eye-balling and conjecture (see definitions below for clarification).

    Definitions:
    "proc" = debuff
"proc rate" = "actually landing" (partial or unresisted) in a magic accuracy sense, a.k.a. "effective proc rate"
"unresisted proc rate" = the probability that an unresisted proc occurs
"resist" = partial duration (half the full duration) or no duration (complete resist)

    1. Duration verification (Qufim Island) (also drawing upon my previous observations)
    • Duration of Shield Break, Armor Break, and Weapon Break may be 180/360/540 seconds at 100/200/300 TP. However I never got a Weapon Break proc to occur and I've only gotten a verified unresisted Shield Break once (a couple years ago)
    • Duration of individual Full Break procs appears to be 180/360/720 seconds at 100/200/300 TP. Procs/debuffs are assumed to be independent of one another.

    Spoiler: show

    2. Effect of magic accuracy on break WS debuffs using Bloodbath Axe and WAR/SCH (check if 386 enfeebling skill and Bloodbath Axe improve observed proc rate)
    • Never got 4x unresisted procs with Full Break (would be suggestive of capped proc rate) nor 4x fully resisted debuffs (indicative of still-shitty proc rate), but only attempted Full Break twice so more observations require
    • There is a 15-category multinomial probability model that can be used to predict the probability of any combination of procs/non-procs (non-resists, partial resists and full resists). Given the number of categories there is no realistic way to verify this model without getting a shit-ton of data so fuck that
    • The major assumptions of the model are that there is a 3-category model of proc durations (full duration, half duration, no duration/resist) extrapolating from the accepted elemental damage resist model (this model is based on re-rolls), and independence of procs occurring. Also that the test mobs are not immune to the debuffs.
    • Given the probability model, the one complete observation below (the 2nd one) has the same low probability (0.001286063) of occurring whether the effective proc rate is capped (.9975) or floored (.0975). I got the same pattern of observation two years ago, however. (2 full duration proc, 1 half duration proc, 1 resist)
    • Perhaps the unresisted proc rate for Full Break is fixed to maximize the probability of a partial-duration proc. 50% unresisted proc rate => 25% partial-duration proc rate. This also maximizes the overall rate of 2 full duration procs (37.5%) (any 2 of the procs are of full duration). See table below where I consolidated categories from the aforementioned probability model based on number of unresisted procs.
    • The unresisted proc rate for the other breaks may be shittier than the one for Full Break, maybe 25%. Maybe even lower than 25% since the effective proc rate would then be 25% + 18.75% = 43.75%. 5% or 10% or 15% perhaps.
    • This would make sense if the devs' intent was to make sure that Full Break would proc at least a few debuffs (of half-duration) some of the time, with the same frequency as the other break WS actuate a half-duration debuff.

    08:38:15 Defense Down wears off (360 s)

Effect of magic accuracy on proc rate of break WS effects (other than Full Break)

TL;DR: magic accuracy from item level weapons appears to improve proc rate for break WS other than Full Break but not accuracy from magic skill. I would expect that global magic accuracy has an effect on proc rate.

Comments: I saw bad proc rates on Qufim mobs so I would not have expected item level magic accuracy to give an obvious improvement for ~lv90 stuff. Then again the magic accuracy from an item level weapon alone dwarfs magic accuracy obtainable from pre-item level gear for mages (much less melee jobs)

There is maybe a chance these break WS effects would actually proc on SoA NMs (barring outright immunity or very high resistance like trying to cast silence on Muyingwa) with Razorfury and geomancer's Languor and/or Focus. Then Shield Break might actually be reliable on Muyingwa.

    1. Bloodbath Axe + WAR/SCH + Dark Arts (386 enfeebling)
Target: Rock Grinders (Abyssea - La Theine)
Results: 6 full duration, 1 half duration, 0 no proc
Conclusion: Bloodbath Axe magic accuracy and/or enfeebling skill improve proc rate

    Code:
05:50:05 Shield Break (119 TP => 214 seconds or 3:34 full duration expected)
    05:53:40 wears off

    2. Bloodbath Axe + no Arts
    Results: 1 full duration
Conclusion: Bloodbath Axe magic accuracy improves proc rate
(Note: remaining potential confounders would be STR/DEX/VIT/AGI/INT/MND/CHR attributes and/or item level gear. Quite doubtful these actually are though.)

    Code:
    07:11:55 Shield Break (147 TP => 264 s or 4:24)
    07:16:21 wears off

    06:58:01 (no message)
    4. Trainee Axe + WAR/SCH + Light Arts (386 enhancing)
    Results: 1 no proc
Conclusion: proc rate of break WS effects unaffected by enhancing magic skill

Shell Crusher and Shattersoul: additional effect durations

    This is with Atinian Staff.

    09:18:03 Shell Crusher (300 TP)
    09:23:03 (nothing)
09:27:03 Rock Grinder's Defense Down effect wears off.

Duration is probably 180/360/540 seconds (3/6/9 minutes) at 100/200/300 TP

It is known that Shell Crusher has the same magic accuracy problem as the break WS (link) so it seems Shell Crusher's proc rate can also be modified by magic accuracy.

Gives GEOs something else to do. Maybe.

I also looked at Shattersoul's MDB- duration.

    09:28:30 Shattersoul (300 TP)
09:30:30 Rock Grinder's Magic Def. Down effect wears off.

    09:31:24 Shattersoul (100 TP)
09:33:25 Rock Grinder's Magic Def. Down effect wears off.

    09:37:11 Shattersoul (300 TP)
09:39:11 Rock Grinder's Magic Def. Down effect wears off.

    09:41:14 Shattersoul (300 TP)
09:43:15 Rock Grinder's Magic Def. Down effect wears off.

    09:44:52 Shattersoul (107 TP)
09:46:52 Rock Grinder's Magic Def. Down effect wears off.

Contrary to the help text for Shattersoul duration of effect does NOT seem to vary with TP (unless there is a severe macc penalty at 300 TP, which is just stupid)

Inner Strength (the new MNK 2-hour) gives a 100% counter rate for its duration.

So it's Perfect Dodge and mega chakra smooshed together and also does damage.

COR neo-AF boots give a boost identical to Corsair's Tricorne, calculated as (2(gun damage + bullet damage + tricorne bonus[+5] + Laksamana's Bottes[+5])), before MAB/staff/weather bonuses are applied.

Mikage - frequency of number of attacks with 5 shadows

Dev comment on Mikage back in 2012 (5 shadows adds +1-5 additional attacks to the main weapon attack)

Main purpose was to check if the number of additional attacks is uniformly distributed with 5 shadows.

NIN99/DNC49, single katana, Zvahl Fortalice to avoid loss of shadows. Presumably there are no issues with battlemod identifying discrete attack rounds.

    n = 104

    Mean number of attacks:
3.509615 (3.251110, 3.768121) ("true" mean would be 4 if uniform distribution)

    Attacks: counts (proportion)
    2: 30 (.2884615)
    3: 27 (.2596154)
    4: 23 (.2211538)
    5: 12 (.1153846)
    6: 12 (.1153846)

Individual 95% CIs (not simultaneous >95% coverage)
    2: (.2038192, .3855334)
    3: (.1785746, .3548101)
    4: (.1456553, .3131302)
    5: (.0610633, .1928810)
    6: (.0610633, .1928810)

    Conclusions
    • Mikage guarantees at least a double attack with 5 shadows.
    • Distribution of additional attacks is not uniform
    • 30/30/20/10/10 would be a reasonable fit to the data (on the basis of goodness-of-fit, or rather "badness-of-fit" tests), but so would 25/25/20/15/15 and 30/20/20/15/15 (these are not the only possibilities, just a few that are based on frequencies that are multiples of 5).
    • More data would be needed to obtain more precise estimates.
