As a parent, I've bought my kids enough pony stuff to sustain the bronies in the pony thread for years. Kids also getting a 42" HDTV, new beds, and a few other odds and ends in which I cannot recall

My parents have bought me a pair of Versace prescription glasses and paid for a generous portion of my vet bill from my greyhound's broken leg. They bought my wife, I think, a new lazy boy recliner. My wife always gets nicer shit from my parents than I get from them.
