Short and simple. I'm soon to have 3 kids, I go to school full time, etc. I rarely have time to make the threads. I vote Bregor to start making the threads, he does a damn good job.
Anyway, final thread of the season (playoffs withstanding). First, a look back at my preseason predictions...
Predictions for the playoffs.AFC East: New England Patriots - Correct!
AFC North: Baltimore Ravens - Still up in the air
AFC South: Indianapolis Colts - LOL (to be fair, this was before Manning was deemed dead)
AFC West: San Diego Chargers - Derpface
Wild Cards: Houston and Miami - Well, Houston made it and Miami would have had Matt Moore started the entire season. At least I was right that the Jets would miss the playoffs.
NFC East: Philadelphia - Dreamteam
NFC North: Green Bay - This was a gimme
NFC South: Atlanta - Close!
NFC West: St. Louis - I think someone predicted the Niners winning this, congrats...great call.
Wild Cards: Detroit and New Orleans - I got 4 of the 6 playoff teams in the NFC correct, that's pretty damn good and I'll take that.
Coach of the Year: Jim Schwartz, Detroit Lions - Wrong
Comeback POY: Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions - Possible?
Defensive ROY: Von Miller, Denver Broncos - A lock
Offensive ROY: Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints - A joke
Defensive POY: Ndamukong Suh, Detroit Lions - A penalty flag
Offensive POY: Phillip Rivers, San Diego Chargers - A bag of shit
MVP: Phillip Rivers, San Diego Chargers - LOOOOOOOOOOL
AFC Championship: Houston v San Diego - Or neither!
NFC Championship: Atlanta v New Orleans - Still like NO!
SuperBowl: San Diego defeats New Orleans - Again, Still like NO
AFC
Baltimore over Denver
Cinci over Houston
NE over Cinci
Baltimore over Pitt
NE over Baltimore
NFC
Detroit over NYG
New Orleans over Atlanta
Green Bay over Detroit
New Orleans over San Francisco
New Orleans over Green Bay
Superbowl
New Orleans over New England
Week 17!
Detroit over Green Bay - Green Bay is likely to sit starters in this game, and Detroit can improve their playoff positioning and avoid a possible rematch where they were blown out against the Saints
San Francisco over St. Louis - San Fran is playing for a bye, so I expect them to go HAM in this game.
Miami over New York Jests - The final score wasn't really indicative of the last game in which Miami largely dominated for a half. Miami is even better now that they were then. Same may not be able to be said about the Jets. I expect more of Revis getting owned by Marshall (yeah, I realize Revis molested marshall and returned a TD, but I could have picked that if I were allowed to throw him to the ground as the ball was in the air). Taylor to get 4 sacks in his final game!
Vikings over Bears - I think the Vikings pride is more important than a high draft pick. Bears are terrible. GERHART!
New England over Buffalo - NE is still playing for home field, which isn't quite locked up yet. I don't see Brady throwing 4 picks again, he'll exact revenge the best way he knows how.
Saints over Panthers - I like Brees to pad his new record to avoid Brady from pulling ahead. They're also playing for a possible two seed if the Niners were to be upset by the Rams.
Eagles over Redskins - Eagles...Dreamteam yo. Plus, you know, the Redskins are fucking awful.
Jacksonville over Indianapolis - In a game in which both teams will be trying to lose. Jacksonville will want to lose to prevent the Colts from drafting Andrew Luck...The Colts will want to lose to ensure they get Andrew Luck. So what happens when two teams play to lose? Greatness!
Tennessee over Houston - Houston is pretty much locked into the 3 seed in the AFC. Kinda shocking I know, but when the winner of the AFC west get the four seed, it's not that hard to see why. I expect Houston to let some guys get some much needed rest to prep for the wildcard round of the playoffs.
Falcons over Bucs - I'm sure Atlanta want to try their best to avoid another game against division rival New Orleans in the superdome. To do they, they'll need to win and hope for a Detroit loss. Salut Raheem.
Bengals over Ravens - Bengals are in an interesting position here. They can lose this game and still have a really good chance at making the playoffs if Miami pulls through and San Diego attempts one last hurrah to save Norv's job. Still, I don't think the Bangals want to rely on the arms of Rivers and Moore to get them into the playoffs. I expect the Christmas connections to be in full effect today.
Steelers over Browns - Really needs no explanation. Ben or not, Pitt is playing for a 2 seed, they'll pull through against a very weak division opponent.
Tebow over Orton - In the God cup, the Holy Grail will finally pass from savior to son. Orton will finally ascend to heaven, taking his place beside our great creator, leaving Tebow to preach the gospel as mortal.
Chargers over Raiders - After being embarrassed by Detroit last week, I think San Diego would like to try and save someone from their staff from being fired for fear of a cleaning of the house.
Cardinals over Seahawks - The best QB in the 2010 class will show everyone why he was a steal in the 5th round. John Skelton to Fitz all day err day. Enjoy Kolb next season Redskins.
New York Giants over Cowboys - Over the past couple of season, Manning has pretty much been an automatic 300 yard passer against the Cowboys. This year, Mannings passing has been even better, his receivers are better, and the Dallas secondary is trash. I have no reason to suspect that Manning won't eat that shit secondary alive for the second time this season.
