The only way I care about Batman Beyond Rebirth is if sees the return of Terry McGuinnis.
Batman Beyond's face looks moronic. The other two are pretty good.
Please no. Just leave Watchmen alone.
Too late now.
Supposedly all of the Watchmen characters are now and have been alive in the DCU. Spoilering their suspected identities below.
Spoiler: show
So... how are they reconciling the actual Watchmen comic, then? It's a self-contained story that doesn't play nice with the rest of the world, given the radical changes to history and stuff. Does... it just not happen?
Dr. Manhattan leaves at the end of Watchmen, presumably to create his own universe to play around with. That's where this is going.
No clue but Dr. Manhattan probably had something to do with it probably just rebuilding his friends from the past in this new world.
I guess that makes sense enough, but is DC really going with the fact that their entire universe is a side-project of a godbeing from another comic book? It seems to cheapen it all if Doc Penis is the progenitor of the entire DC library.
It seems to only be the case from Flashpoint onwards. Something happened during Flashpoint that allowed him to cross over and start using his powers to tamper with the universe which is seen by all the changes that came out of that event
Wally says that he suspects that the changes started happening before Flashpoint. The reasoning here seems pretty straightforward and meta-textual. The comics industry, and DC in particular, has been reacting to Watchmen (and to a lesser extent The Dark Knight Returns) for almost 30 years now. This story is finally addressing that. So in a very real way, Dr. Manhattan has been affecting the DCU since the late 80s.
I'm curious if the Watchmen sequel book will tie into this.
Marvel has run out of things to call their relaunches so now it's reusing names:
