Make sure you burn the fuck out of them and brush them before you use it to cook your food. I know it sounds obvious, but I've used a "community" grill, preheated it for 10 minutes or so after the coals burned down, brushed it, and the burgers I cooked tasted like sea water. I'm guessing someone cooked fish on it before I got there and didn't clean it at all so it just lingered on the gratings for way too long.
Coals? These are all gas grills. Apparently they are scoured by maintenance once a week but I don't believe that.
I was using a coal grill, but gas grills are the same. Turn that shit up to high and let it burn off for 10 minutes after it reaches cooking temp. I bet maintenance just brushes them off once a week if anything. I doubt they really go in on the gratings with a scouring pad or something.
People cook weird shit on grills, especially people that don't normally cook on them.
So went to try a new burger place that has rather unique offerings. Was pretty amazing
Like here are the Totchos. Which as it sounds are nachos but with crispy tatter tots instead of chips
Some amazing Truffle fries that immediately made the person I went with regret her choice to get sweet potato lol
And then a Parmigiana burger which is like it sound a burger done in chicken parmesan style
Seems they lightly toast all their buns with butter which is delicious
Also not pictured was drinks. I got Effen Sparkler: Effen Black Cherry Vodka, Lemon, Pavan, Raspberry Purée, and J Roget Brut. While she got Rhu-Barbarian: Skyy Strawberry Vodka, Lime, Strawberry Purée, Rhubarb Bitters, Cilantro which was actually amazing.
Truffle fries are terrible. That burger makes no sense.
Both of those drinks sound awful.
Nacho tots are real though. I'm gonna make some of those.
I always toast my burger buns, or bread, which is what I usually use. Tots are interesting. I'm not into drinks like that. I can see why some would like that burger. Not for me though.
Brutal. Not that I disagree.
Irish nachos or similar aren't knew to me. I make them sometimes on a hangover day.

Burger was unique... like a lot of there stuff but think they forgot they weren't cooking chicken so the breading was still kind of mushy and the marinara just doesn't go at all with it
My drink was meh. Hers was surprisingly amazing though
Finally getting back to cooking again and made some delicious tri tip and Parmesan roasted cauliflower.
Fuck totchos, you guys need to experience a Chiwawa from bubbakoos.
Get the fuck out of here.
Why butterfly the sausage? I love that pop of a crisp skin and a juicy interior.
Also, hen of the wood mushrooms are delicious. A farmers market near us sells them, but they're expensive.
