I personally use a steamer pot like this
    http://cookingwithali.files.wordpres.../steam-pot.jpg

and I put the eggs mixture in whatever big bowl I have.

Get a steamer pot if you dont have one, it's amazing. Aside from steaming veggies, dumplings, fish etc, I've made cornbread with it and it turned out freakin amazing.

Picture is huge on my work screen; are banana shallots any different from regular shallots? They seem like they may be longer/more narrow, but is there a difference in taste?

They are a combo of onion and garlic, more heavily onion but with a very nice garlic taste. They cook exactly like sweet onions. They are usually 3-4 inches long, 1-1.5 inches wide. Easy to cut in rings or roasting half/whole.

Bacon -> Onions -> leftover pulled pork shoulder stock (spicy as fuck) -> Beef stock -> frozen veggies = 30 minute stew.

That's what shallots are too. Was wondering if there was any difference in taste, texture, or something like that. Seems there isn't any difference.

speaking of shallots, I always find the ones sold at asian market is soooo much better than from regular chain grocery store. They're considerably smaller, but the flavor is so much more potent.

If anything they are less garlicky and more onion-y than regular shallots. The size is why I like them, I like roasting them whole.

I'm definitely more of a garlic guy. Whole roasted garlic bulbs are delicious.

I'll stick to the garlic-y shallots. Haven't seen the other ones anyway.

They are not very common in the US from what I can see.

Currently making Founders' Breakfast Stout Mac and Cheese with Caramelized Onion.

    8oz cheddar
    8oz Provolone
    1 onion
    2 Oz butter (about 4 tbsp) - I say 3 Oz, 6 tbsp.
    2 cloves garlic
    1 cup Founders' Breakfast Stout
    1/4 flour
    2 cups milk
    1/2 cup Heavy cream
    1 bay leaf
    1st pasta
    salt and pepper to taste

Caramelize onion on low heat with 1 Oz butter. 45 mins.
Add garlic and let cook for additional 5 mins to soften.
Add beer and bring to boil, let reduce to half.
Add 1 Oz butter with 1/4 cup flour stirring constantly to cook flour - Recipe calls for 1 Oz, I think more should be added. My roux seized up with only 1 Oz of butter. Can also add a small amount of the milk mixture instead.
Pour in milk, cream, and bay leaf. Let thicken (coat back of a spoon)
Slowly add cheeses as the previous addition melts.
    Season to taste.
    Spoiler: show

So, I've never made a smoothie in my life. Need help with this idea.

Basically, I want to turn an entire box of zebra cakes and a couple slides of bacon into a Zebra cake bacon smoothie for the day I come off of my diet.

Anyone know how I'd go about this? I'm assuming I'd need ice and milk as well? or idk how to go about it lol

    That's terrifying.

Smoothies are blends of juices/fruit/veggies. They generally don't have a frozen aspect from my own experience.
Shakes are the frozen guys that involve milk, ice, and/or ice cream along with additions (candies, syrups, PEANUT BUTTER). Sounds like you'd want to do the latter with this because of the cakes.

Cook your bacon, unwrap your Zebra cakes, and attempt not to eat them over the next few minutes.

Put a few cubes of ice at the bottom of the blender and add a little milk.
Turn the blender on to crush the ice a bit.
Start throwing in your monstrosity of ingredients a little at a time, adding milk as needed to keep a "drinkable" consistency.
Blend until combined in a homogeneous mixture of wtf.

I'm not sure how this would turn out mostly because of the cake aspect. It might turn into something really weird. Not to mention zebra cakes are insanely sweet.

I had to google what zebra cake was lol, but yeah what toki said. Though I'm not sure how putting cooked bacon in there would turn out good in any way unless you have commercial grade blender. I suggest cooking the bacon to extra crispy and grind them into a powder or some sort before putting them in the blender.

There are a few places near me that will add bacon to milkshakes, but yeah I should have specified CRISPY bacon. That or just throw some pieces in after to choke down rather than blend together?

I would not use ice or milk. Instead take all your zebra cakes throw them into the blender, then add either frozen yogurt, ice cream or a frozen banana in and blend. Cook your bacon to CRISPY, chop it into bacon bit size pieces and add at the end, just use the blender to mix it all together at the end.
