All I want is a croissant right now for breakfast.
Fuck my life.

Baguettes errday
srsly.
Seeing super hot chicks crushing a whole baguette on their way to work really changed my appreciation of bread.
The fucking basic cafe food crushes the shit out of everything except mid-high tier food in the states.
Example:
We sit down at this joint.

It's close to the AirBnB we rented and we were hungry and didn't wanna metro anywhere.
I ordered duck confit with frites, GF has something else. We order escargot to start because France.
This shit could have been in a magazine.
Fucking crispy skin, incredible texture on the meat, perfectly fried frites.
That was the first fucking thing I ate in France and it wasn't even in the top 10.
Don't even get me started on the fucking boucherie, fromagerie situation we had on our street.
Jesus fuck.
Sounds like you had a decent experience. Bet you were missing subway breakfast sandwiches the entire time.
But how are their cheeseburgers?

But how did you tolerate the Parisians?
Ridiculously good honestly.
See this place. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...de_France.html
It's a small chain but they have really sick burgers.
We all hate tourists equally. They loved us.
Do you speak french? I wanna go but that language barrier...?

Everyone under 40 speaks English.
90% of people under 65 speak English at least enough to help you.
If you can do basics, it's fucking easy as shit. I mean super basic, like saying hello and knowing how to ask for the bathroom.
I spoke like 30 words of French before we left. GF speaks like 5th grade French but was so rusty it was hilarious.
Also, Google Translate is awesome for menus. Instant translations.
chicken: slow cooker. soy sauce, honey, hoisin, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, green onion, sesame seeds. good but next time I'll probably tone down the honey/hoisin or both because it's too sweet. basmati rice as well (oddly enough, my first time cooking basmati rice. it's wonderful)
sweet potato mash: butter, milk, sage, parmesan. fucking godly. I will be bringing this to Thanksgiving after I perfect it.
green beans: soy sauce, garlic, pepper, sesame seeds. blanched and then sautéed. I think I didn't blanch and/or cook them enough because they're a bit crunchy and, more importantly, the dirty/bitter flavor of fresh green beans is still overpowering. or maybe I just don't like green beans; I have literally never made them fresh before.
just for zet, a picture:
I like to slowcook things plain with a little salt pepper and vinegar but that looks p good.
Sometimes. If I'm making a lot, fuck that. Sauce and serve is easier.
I do salt, pepper, garlic powder, chopped onion, some real onion, bay leaves and then soy + vinegar. Low for 6-8 so the magic can happen and then it's mouthwatering good.
Meh. This is p fluff stuff and product placement.
