They could have used the exact same system as investigation with a few different objectives and added trials for the gear that required large amounts of exp inside nyzul. Time sink + progression + people being able fill groups with people looking for exp so that they can work on their own progression. It took me 15 seconds to think of that and this dev team took 9 months to come up with some convoluted luck/cheating based garbage.

Their re-imagination of nyzul to make it better, actually made it worse, amazing.. Well here is to that mythic weapons being even more difficult to obtain, will probably never see a price dip in alex. lol.

If they made it so normal mobs dropped singles, nms dropped cotton and 20/40/60/80/100 mobs dropped linen then there would be a hope of that, as for the floor progression it's just stupid .. I hope there is some sort of an error in the system that they over looked about the ??? floor progression or restarting where you left off cause it makes no sense to record the floor data, then be unable to go back to it.

We found some gears on our last run. Was "don't kill gears" so didn't kill to see if dropped alex, but they're there.

Well, My 1 experienced netted me... (Forgot Floor Numbers)

Lamps (Same Time)
Kill all
Lamps (Order)
Boss - Medusa-one - Used an AoE petrify, Pinning Shot, Tail Slap (stunned me for like 8 Seconds) (Did a decent SA Mercy Stroke on this one :3)
Kill Family (2 Qiqirns)
Lamps (Register)
Kill all - Timed out. Was floor 35.

Thats ours.

Edit: Locked SMN magic on some floor, and "Boost MND" on another.

We got a do not destroy gears on our 1st floor.

Was also accompanied by some of the dickiest floors ever.

It seemed better to just leave someone at the port all the time too (we had a mule do it) but it may just have been because we got a few massive floors.

Had avoid detection by gears. Pulled them fine without penalty. 1 link caused us to lose 1 minute from the run. No alex dropped from the Gears from what I saw.

Okay, I also updated the OP with new information on random NMs you might meet. It's not final (the borders for anything above floor 20 are almost entirely guesses), but it'll give you some idea what to expect. Check out the 81-99.

I'm suprised people thought this was going to be anything else than what it turned out to be, don't you guys judge on track record? VW, WoE and now this..all follow the same pattern. Nice ideas ruined by some small things added purely to kepe people doing it as long as possible. Legion will be the exact same deal.

I think the alex drop rate will be boosted later on, they just thought it would be wildly successfull and spammed to death so didn't want to flood the market. Once they see people hate it and aren't doing it they will increase it.

Got a few Alex drops from random mob types with THF in party. Probably about as common as the Vigil Weapon drops.
