Freaknight is coming up soon, it's two nights this year and apparently they have a week of stuff leading up to it. I have friends going but I'm not really interested in the lineup. So undecided right now...

For you festival goers, would some Sanuk flip flops be safe for Voodoo fest this weekend? Nothing but sunny skies in the forecast and Sanuks are so damn comfortable.
Idk how people do flop flops at concerts/festivals and some away without squished toesies
In my personal experiences, you want real shoes with lots of padding and ankle support. Even without venturing into pits you're going to get your feet stepped on, and at the least you're going to be standing, a whole fucking lot. The shows/festivals I went to not wearing good shoes I've left with a completely exploded lower back.
Also, always plan for your shoes to be trashed beyond recognition after a festival. Don't wear some brand new expensive white sneakers.
fo rella, my last two fests i just left my shoes in the hotel room trashcan before checking out
^ I bought a pair of running shoes at Kohl's just for Riot Fest, they were salvageable but with the rain/mud they got pretty trashed and took awhile to clean.
Scribble Jam 2014 {Kickstarter} Goal = $100khttp://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...ibble-jam-2014The original organizers of America’s largest hip-hop festival need your help to bring back an event that showcased real artists performing music, breakers, and art for thirteen consecutive years.
In order to be an authentic voice for the hip hop culture, festival organizers have repeatedly declined corporate sponsorships—we didn’t want to sell out the artists and fans we were putting on the show to celebrate. Five years ago we had to make the difficult decision that the event could no longer sustain itself via ticket sales alone.
Along came Kickstarter: the perfect forum for us to connect with the grassroots supporters who never wanted us to sell out their favorite artists to the highest bidder, but also didn’t want to pay sky-high ticket prices. We need the support of the people who lived it or wished they’d been around to experience the magic firsthand—the people who helped us put on thirteen consecutive festivals filled to capacity with breakers, MC’s, DJ’s, beat-boxers, and graffiti artists from around the world—YOU are the people we are asking to help.

Why they need 100k
Scribble Jam has always had the support of the people but in 2008 it became apparent that an event the size of Scribble Jam could no longer be put on by ticket sales alone. In the past we have had sponsors with very limited involvement but we have always stood strong in our conviction for artistic control over the event.
As the event grew so did the caliber of legendary performers we were able to bring. Icons like Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, and Prince Paul to name just a few. In 2005 we offered $10,000 for the MC Battle. But spending over $100,000 on the event was just too big of a personal financial risk for each of us as organizers to take on.
With the money raised on Kickstarter, we will be able to ensure the financial security of the festival organizers as well as continue to bring the high quality of performers for which Scribble Jam is known. All of the money raised here will go directly into making 2014 our biggest and best Scribble Jam ever!
