So 1.0 came out as was mentioned. I started this when it was in open alpha (beta?) 2 summers ago. It didn't quite click for me after a while. Just dig for ore, go to the next planet and get better ore to get to better galaxy.

I tried giving 1.0 a chance, and the game has changed dramatically. For the better. I love it. The quests are a great touch that makes digging for certain items mean something besides make fancy furniture. I haven't gotten too deep yet but from what I saw in their release trailer I was stoked.

I think what excited me was the first boss fight. Hopefully this game doesn't let me down as I've been playing solo for now.

played this all night, got real sad when I fell in lava after spending like 3 hours farming core fragments and almost seppuku'd

played for another hour or 3 and got back to where my stuff fell in the lava and it was still there

    this game is great

    There are 3 modes:

Casual Mode: No loss on death
Survival Mode: 30% Pixel loss and most of your items on death
Hardcore Mode: You die and it's over

Casual is 10% pixel loss on death.

Lots of fun playing this weekend. Looking for Avian village to scan now.

Found a goat head early and a black smoke cape yesterday. good combo.
The Staffs are fun to. I found a fire one that has a healing area alt. It also works as a nice light.

Going to work on my crew and maybe a more permanent settlement this week.

Oh and if you haven't play in a while the Pixel Compressor keeps stuff 1:1 now. So its a nice way to protect pixels from death.

I'm still fuzzy on what they mean by a green star. I only saw white/red/blue when I zoomed out. Unless they mean the actual planet.

Only complaint I have so far is the lack of inventory sorting

Finished the main story last night, a bit surprised at the lack of content given how much time this was in development. Overall the game was fun, but has some huge flaws. At this point we are just running around looking for interesting worlds, which I guess is cool but I'll probably lose interest in another day or so. Hopefully there are huge content updates on the way and it doesn't take several years to finish. Really enjoyed the boss fights though, glad they weren't super time consuming like some of the bosses in Terraria.

Ya, when we first started we focused on exploration and really enjoyed the vibe of checking out each planet we found. Then I started to get more involved in searching for better equipment and weapons and that lead to progressing through the story. Unfortunately there isn't that much story to get through and when you're done that's kinda it unless you enjoy flying to new planets endlessly looking for randomly generated loot.

I like building stuff. I'm looking forward to redownloading it and playing through the changes.

Yea I think for me an "end-game" would be collect all codexes and build a large colony on a finisher planet after getting most if not all schematics. Right now, as was said a couple posts up, inventory sucks. I don't know if there's a fast way to select an item from inventory and immediately use it without having to put it into a hot slot and use it from there.

Click it, move it outside the inventory menu, and left click.

Thanks! Would rather a "Press E to use" be in place when you click it but that's better than what I've been doing.

I'd like a more visible way of knowing what items you have on your hotbar so you don't accidentally sell your good stuff. There is this gold border on items that you have "equipped" but any of the items on your secondary hotbar don't show up. Also the new hotbar is pretty bad. Really hate how so many things take up both the left and right slots too. I get it for weapons, it is annoying as shit for regular items like torches and building blocks. And why doesn't food stack? Because they can all expire at different times? Terrible design if that is the reason imho.

Ya seeds stack but food doesn't so I often have to stash extras in a container because I run out of space. Im guessing it is as you said - expiration dates. Did not realize there was a stomach full buff so now I'm constantly eating to stay full.

So my biggest annoyance, besides lack of inventory, is that whenever rotten food is selected, it tabs over to the main inventory.

Game is pretty good. I wish techs were more than just sidegrades, and the game needs some special gear drops. Not as polished as Terraria, but it has a lot of different things to offer.
