What a sad day to be a gamer. Your favorite franchise gets outsourced, and copies every current lolconsole shooter that exists. I instantly got turned off by loadouts alone. I really hope bethesda burns in hell.

Did anyone actually get this? I was tempted by cd keys as they have it for like $31, and idm if it's a decent campaign. But if it's shit, I'm not dropping money on it.

From what the Internet is telling me the single player is quite good (and I guess around 12-13 hours long), but multi-player is hot garbage

The open beta's multiplayer was reasonably good though I don't understand why they bothered with loadouts. A good single-player campaign would probably make me buy this game.

Oh damn, I got the feeling in one of the interviews that they weren't focusing on single player much. That was my question about the game as I don't really care too much (yet) about multiplayer, but I was looking for some good single player action. Not jump-scares, but good "I don't know if these boxes of overflowing ammo will be enough for me to live".

I've got enough games atm and I'm in no rush, but I've heard nothing but good things about the single player. Exactly what you'd want from the Doom series in current times. No cutscenes, no real story, just big guns and lots of shit to kill.

Btw there are new Nvidia drivers that came out today for anyone getting it on PC. Not sure on AMD drivers.

Edit : sounds like any AMD cards outside the Fury line run like shit, at least until Vulkan support comes along.

If anyone wants to watch Mark playing the first two levels. Looks fairly good; I'm just concerned that doing a melee kill seems to be the best way to take an enemy out; thought that could just be the way he's playing.

It guarantees them dropping health pickups afaik. But if they're flashing to indicate the gory kill it already means they're probably a single shot away from death.

And yeah, at least for single player this shit is awesome. Performance is fantastic too, except for turning down AA and motion blur I'm running it on Max settings @1080p on a 980M, and it stays 60+ fps consistently. If there's any real frame drops I'm not noticing it due to Gsync, whole thing feels butter smooth.

Uncharted 4 did not last long as the best looking game I've ever played (modding/Reshade tweaking notwithstanding).

Don't think the AA carried over in the screenshot, but fucking hell look at those light shafts.

So general consensus so far is that the single player is good? That's all I really care about personally.

The gameplay is very shallow, but that's kinda the point. I'm on the 3rd level so far and shit is mad entertaining. Weapons have decent variety and they're all satisfying in their own way.

Edit : OMG the Super Shotgun is fucking dope. It's design and mechanics are different from every other weapon, won't say anything else for when you find it.

Throwing in another post to say that 4 hours or so into the single player, it is fucking spectacular. If you're at all on the fence about it, don't be. It's everything you hoped and wanted a new id software FPS to be. No hiding behind cover, no waiting for health to regen, no silly nonsense like flanking or "tactics." Just shit to shoot in the face (or hack apart with the chainsaw), followed by more shit to shoot.

I can't and likely won't have anything to say about the multiplayer because I'm just honestly not interested in it at all, but the campaign is just amazing.
