The Dragonball Shorts do look fun though.
The Dragonball Shorts do look fun though.
They're not wrong to do it, nor is it unintelligent, but its what I come to see. That, and machinabridged.
They have numerous marketing people that probably determined they're all going to make more money getting official roles and moving on to more easily monetized projects. They can get out from under the hassle of constantly dodging lawsuits and continue voice acting, which is what they actually like doing. I highly doubt any of them are particularly invested in pleasing the hardcore TFS fans. It's just business.
I mean all he was suggesting was they threw out script #1.
I'd wager they're just starting over, not abandoning the film.
^ Agreed, and when its done I'll watch it, but script #1 has taken over a year since the first announcement, so I'm not holding my breath in wait.
When it comes around, I'll watch. Until then, good luck on whatever else you're doing.
Well the problem they're running into is that TFS is still what provides the most hits for them. The release of ep 60 parts 2 and 3 did huge numbers on their twitch premiere.
Not terribly interested in unabridged. If I'm bored enough I'll catch it I suppose. FF7 machinabridged grew on me. Though I am curious to see how shortz turns out.
Yeah I'm not mad that they aren't catering towards what I want. I hope they make all the money as they move on to other stuff. They deserve all the success in the world. I'm just not gonna watch them out of obligation, I like abridged lol.
Kaiser put up a giant post about the bojack stuff
https://www.reddit.com/r/TeamFourSta...and_more_from/
His point about Bojack makes a lot of sense, if you cut that down to just the scenes you could dub dialogue over it'd be like 10 minutes long.
But it doesn't make sense, given the effort to shrink the cell games into like 2 episodes.
Also they've added dialogue before. I think "burnt out* was probably the truest part.
Its absolutely the truest part. They didn't need a 3 hour long Bojack Movie. Something as simple as Gohan thinking back on what happened while he beats the shit out of them in a flashback or something would have worked.
They want to do other stuff. We get it. Its a free market: produce what you want and see if people still show up for it. What will be, will be.
I'll be back for Machinabridged. Until then, they're just a bunch of guys to me, and that's 100% fine by both parties.
I mean if they're tired of DB in particular (which doesn't seem the case, just all abridged content) I would like if they do another short abridged series like Hellsing. I love DBZA but I think some of the best writing they've ever done is in HSA.
Have no idea what series would be good for that though.
I think the primary issue is they're trying to grow as content creators and as a business, and there is only so much you can do with other people's work when trying to make money.
First of their shorts. Not bad. Fun idea.
Actually enjoyed it. Napa telling him what not to do was pretty funny.
Still just wish it was actual DBZA though lol
Strong start for this season.
it's amazing how we're now in the middle of disc 2 more or less, they done a good job still including the story and such all intact.
When I was young and played this a lot I hated the beginning of disc 2, it felt like such a drag until after Cloud recovers.
So, good news/bad news. The Good News is.. we'll probably still be getting the Buu Saga. Bad news? They're probably doing it in the way of the DBZ Shortz animation style vs the actual anime, which basically means DBZA as we know it finished with 60.

Mentions it around the 38 mins mark. I get them doing this to skirt youtube policy and what not.. but honestly going this route effectively means it won't be DBZA anymore since at that point it's just a fanime. Ah well. I feel like they've been branching out from this for a while. It's sad too, because while most of their content is still enjoyable to an extent.. it's nowhere near as big as what made them who they were.
