The seventh season of Dexter, starring Emmy nominee and Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall, will begin the evening at 9 p.m. The sophomore season of Homeland, the recent Golden Globe winner for best TV drama, follows at 10 p.m.

Both have scored well for the premium cable network. Dexter stands as Showtime’s top-rated series, averaging 5.5 million viewers in its sixth season across all platforms.

Does anyone know when the dvds/online stuff will come out for the last season? I've been wanting to watch Season 6 but they haven't released it anywhere and there's no info on when its going to be released afaik.

The last season normally comes out just before the new season starts. Stupid I know. IMO it should come out soon after the season ends, but that makes too much sense I guess...

I finally got around to watching s6, marathoned it. All I have to say is WHAT THE FUCK? I kept watching it cause I expected it to get better but....the storyline was terrible, the bad guy was just annoying, the good/bad religious themes were completely out of place, they turned Quinn from Doakes jnr. into a pussy, Batista was boring, Laguerta went from ok to hateable, Masouka went from funny to annoying, the big twist with the bad guy's psychosis had no effect on me at all, the love story with Debra and Dexter is RETARDED, and even their acting skills seem worse now. What the fuuuuck? Why was DEXTER praying and making deals with God for help? It completely destroys his character. Did they change writers? It doesn't seem to be budget cuts so it has to be a change in writers.

Now I'm understanding why the s6 thread had 'Now with more bitching' in the title -_-

The way they built up s5 (which was also mediocre-decent) I was expecting this to be an incredible season where its dexter vs everyone, with the way Quinn was hounding him + Debra finding out about his brother. Instead it this POS which was written with about the same level of quality as Naruto filler -_- And prior to Breaking Bad this was my favorite drama ever too D: Have I just been spoiled by Breaking Bad + Steven Moffat's shows?

are there any develeopmental notes on the storyboard or anything so far? lol they usually hint a little something, months before it starts <_>;

either way, im curious how deb is gonna ... you know. be deb. it might just be a justifiable reason for her falling in love with him afterall

edit: although i wouldnt want that. i would rather her be a villian and die off lol. i personally cannot stand the actress for her, but i sincerely doubt that would happen anyways.

In the first piece of casting for the show’s upcoming seventh season, Dexter has tapped Rome actor Ray Stevenson to join the ensemble in a major recurring role, TVLine has learned exclusively.
The Irish thesp will play a high-ranking member of an Eastern European crime ring who arrives in Miami determined to learn who killed one of his associates.
No further details were available, including whether Stevenson will function as the new season’s Big Bad.
Dexter‘s seventh season is set to premiere Sunday, Sept. 30.
