General WWE Discussion: Roman Weeps, Taker Retires, MNK/SAM/RDM LFP

There's still quite a bit of setup going on, which makes sense to me. That sequence in the corner by Killshot and the face off at the end of the episode was totally worth the price of admission for the entire episode for me.

The Disciples of Death don't really interest me though. They're good in the ring but I just don't care about them at all as characters, which is kinda important for this show.

I love the concept of wrestling as a TV show with regular seasons catching on. Chikara does it and they always have fantastic season openings/finales. It'll never happen but imagine if WWE was even just 8 months instead of year round. Summerslam as the kick-off to every new season, Wrestlemania as the finale. 4 months a year for talent to recover from injury, keep their characters fresh, work the indy scene if they wanted to.

Wrestling Observer reported some interesting things recently.

WWE is again talking about an idea for a cruiserweight style show on WWE network. Something that has been rumored numerous times in the past. The observer stated the idea was for a tournament style program featuring non-contracted wrestlers under 205lbs.

TNA also approached Lucha Underground with the idea of running joint shows during WM weekend. LU apparently turned them down but did meet with HHH about talent in December but nothing came of that apparently either.

I can't imagine what WWE and LU could possibly do together. The styles of shows are just so drastically different.

Meltzer says if Cena can recover in time the WM match would be him vs Undertaker. I sure hope so cuz its better than Strowman.

Also from Meltzer is that Kenny Omega is taking over all of AJ Styles dates in RoH, so he'll be a part of all TV tapings and PPVs unless it conflicts with his NJPW schedule.

WWE has shown they have 0 long term plans for anyone and anything. FOr any WM matches they have penciled in now are going to probably change by Monday and change 100 times before WM.

Bull Dempsey, Marcus Louis, and Sylvester Lefort are gone from NXT.

Last two don't surprise since they've been off the show for like a year now, but Bull surprises me a bit.

I like Bull, but they really haven't had much for him to do recently. It's a shame, really.

Bull had the last of a dying breed gimmick that didn't work. Then bull fit got tired after like 1 or 2 appearances.
Lefort could fucking talk though. I was hoping they would have him manage Billie Kay like he does out house shows. Heard great things and wanted to see it.
Marcus Louis never did much so oh well.

Well he did have to shave his head and eyebrows for like an entire year, so he had that going for him

Injury bug seems to have bit NXT now. Finn was seen on crutches after the show in Nashville but no word on how serious it might be.

He claimed to be OK, and realistically he wouldn't have to work a match until Mania week since NXT is taped all the way til then.
