It's an increase in base damage. Check bgwiki

So even with the base damage increase(49 with Dark arts and like 75 with dark arts+rasa, does INT still win out over MAB?)

Also +6 potency staff or Plenitas Vergas for helix?

Staff always. INT should still win most of the time, but I just realized I'm dumb and didn't include the increased base potency under DA in my Mathematica sheet, so it could change some things.

    Ganesha's mask & af3+2 hands > af3+2 head & melee+2 hands right?

Do you have a helix set I can look at to try and work some numbers around?

    Which is better for Upheaval:

    War. Cuisses +2
    Rare Ex
    [Legs] All Races
    DEF:51 STR+8 VIT+8 "Double Attack"+3%Increases "Double Attack" damage
    LV 90 WAR

    Phorcys Dirs
    Rare Ex
    [Legs] All Races
    DEF:51 DEX+10 VIT+10Attack+24 "Store TP"+6 Haste+6% Set: Increases STR, VIT, INT, MND
LV 99 WAR PLD DRK BST SAM DRG

I have phorcys body for set bonus. (have head too but doubt that's optimal for WS)

Is there a 3rd option that would be better?

EDIT: Now that I look at them side by side it seems obvoius that phorcys is better.

I'd suggest finding a static and just getting a Thaumas coat. With Thaumas coat you can rock Ganesha's + af2+2 hands + BB and af3+2 legs and not have to worry about it.

Drakaina's Lance or Patientia? The lower delay does NOT affect my current x-hit (just using a 6-hit until I get around to finishing OAT).

    lolCloudsplittler for BST set:

    Farsha/ / /Flame Sachet
    Twilight/Stoicheion/Novio/Hecates
    Phorcys/Phorcys/Aqua/Aqua
    Vigilance+1/waist/legs/Suzaku's Sune-Ate

Besides switching body with AF3+2 if killer effects apply to your target, for waist; Elemental Gorget? Crudelis Belt? or is there a better option? What about legs, Avant Cuisses +1 vs Ogier Breeches? (I'm sure Hugginn legs would be the best in this slot, but yeah those are out of the question atm.) Is there any good/relevant back piece? would STR rings be better than MND, or one of each?

Ryunohige > Gungnir > OAT/STR > EMP is my understanding. OAT vs. STR.... I don't know.

I can't comment on waist selection, but Fortis Mantle has 6 STR on it for your back piece. I'd use Ogier's Breeches for legs, and if you can't get MAB Demon Rings then Pyro/Aqua are good. Aquasoul x 2 works fine, and you're probably already carrying them around for Reward.

If you're lucky enough to get Seiokona Beret, that should top Twilight Helm too. Nice looking set overall.

I know we just went over Polearms, but where does the new one from Odin fit in?

Should be right behind 95 Gungnir.

I know the question was just asked, but I was looking for more specifications on Gungnir (95, don't see myself getting marrows quickly) v. OAT v. Herja's Fork, and why each would be better, as in their pros/cons on WS frequency, WS damage, and TP DoT (including jumps if possible). Saw something on FFXIAH about it but I figured I'd ask here because I figure the better mathers are here. Here are the sets I'd be looking for on each build, slightly conjecture as I'm missing Ganesha's Mala, etc:

    Herja's Fork
    Herja's Fork/Pole Grip/Empty/Thew Bomblet
    Lancer+2/Ganesha/Gillie+1/Brutal
    Lancer+2/Dusk+1/Rajas/Tyrant's
    Atheling/Goading/Phorcys/Lancer+2

Delay is 492 on Herja's, so that's 13.36 TP/hit. That requires me to get +50 STP in order to hit 5/hit, and this setup gives me +36 STP, along with +15 from /SAM so puts me slightly over 5-hit.

    Gungnir (95)
    Gungnir/Pole Grip/Empty/Hagneia Stone
    Lancer+2/Houyi's Gorget/Gillie+1/Brutal
    Lancer+2/Dusk+1/Rajas/Tyrant's
    Atheling/Goading/Phorcys/Lancer+2

Delay is 492 on Gungnir, so that's 13.36 TP/hit. That requires me to get +50 STP in order to hit 5/hit, and this setup gives me +37 STP, along with +15 from /SAM so puts me slightly over 5-hit.

    Chauve-Souris (Current)
    OAT (99)/Pole Grip/Empty/Thew Bomblet
    Lancer's+2/Ganesha/Gillie+1/Brutal
    Lancer's+2/Dusk+1/Rajas/Tyrant
    Atheling/Goading/Phorcys/Lancer's+2

Delay on OAT is 507, which is 13.81 TP/hit so you need 45 STP in order to hit a 5-hit build. My set above gives +31 STP, which along with the +15 from /SAM puts me at 46 STP, just over what is required.

From my eyeballing I'd say that Herja's is best for melee DoT, but I'm not sure how the 6 DMG difference between Gungnir and Herja's would affect the overall damage output. This also doesn't account for jumps, as the multi-hit jumps not only build a ton of TP but do a fair amount of damage as well. WS frequency, OAT lance would win hands-down, I'd imagine.

So yeah, that's just my thoughts on the matter and my current setup considerations, and I'm wondering if I should be going for Herja's Fork or stick with my OAT lance/Gungnir that I'm making. Thanks for your time.
