People have the right to express their opinions, even against minorities.
They're still better than those who claim to be perfectly fine with gay marriage with a smile on their face whilst throwing up a little in their mouth.
    Just let them be.

Having and expressing the opinion is one thing. Forcing your opinion into the law is another.

People have equal rights to ridicule stupid, bigoted opinions. Ain't this country grand?

No, it's not. The laws specifically prevent same sex marriage. The pro-gay marriage crowd want to repeal those laws (DOMA, state constitutions, etc). They aren't trying to force their opinion into laws, they're trying to prevent others from doing so.

All laws are someone's opinions. The constitution is an opinion. One that we all live by/agree with, etc, but an opinion nonetheless. Source: Everyone outside the U.S. who doesn't live by our constitution.

You're right in one respect: even those retards are free to hold and express their opinions.

But you're wrong in another respect: Freedom of speech!=freedom from dissent.
If this thread was about polling the book of faces to censor them, then yes, it would be a violation of freedom of speech (whether it'd be justified or not is another debate), but it's about going there and voicing disagreement/laughing at them; that's not violating freedom of speech, it's exercising it.

Does that work with other forms of bigotry? Because if it does, I'll buy a costume, take on the name of Super Feminist and fuck the wives/girlfriend of all (non-single) misogynists in front of them.

To be fair to straight males, there should be some vagoos. And to be fair to the Welsh-Americans, there should be some sheep in the wall.

You're right on one point - one side is trying to repeal a law and the other is trying to keep in place a law, but my argument was that both sides of the table are "forcing" something on the other side that the others don't want (pro-S.S.M is pushing for their agenda against the will of the anti-S.S.M and vice versa). I don't know if that cleared it up.

Giving minorities legal rights doesn't really force anything upon anyone else.

Don't worry, CS. It's implied that the poor people would just be in the wall.

It's like Pink Floyd once said, "All in all you're just another dick in the wall."
