Terrific sequel. Way more faster pace than the first. Some scenes could've been trimmed down, but it was so visually pleasing that it makes up for it. I never expected the soundtrack to live up to Vangelis' level, but it paid tribute while giving it a darker tone that worked for the film. I agree that it was incredibly loud in some scenes but I felt it helped the experience overall.
When "K" hits that trip wire and an almost silent scene is followed by a loud explosion. Etc.
Also, the showing I went to only had about ten or so people. Is sad.

Also, Leto didn't have shit on Hauer's Roy Batty.

overall still quite enjoyable compared to most sequels/reboots that get cranked out, for sure.
Or K, both are the primary replicant characters in the stories and share a similar ending (failing to get what they wanted but gaining their humanity).
Surprised this movie is doing as bad as it is. I would have though Harrison Ford in a high production sci-fi film would get crowds into theatres.
Movie came out after the 3 hurricanes and the week of the Vegas shooting.
Went to see it today, early showing, me and my buddy mike were the only ones in the theater.

Even worse that Happy Death Day beat Blade Runner over the weekend. Ugh.

eh it's nearly 3 meditative hours on what it means to be human and is the sequel to a 35 year old movie that wasn't all that popular, the original only earned 32 million.
that said while its domestic take is weak it's pulling well overseas, nearly 2/3rds of its gross receipts are from abroad and the combined worldwide haul is now 160 million or slightly more than its production budget. real problem is the film was just too expensive given its primary audience (older hard sci-fi male who remembers/discovered the original).
I'm sure a lot of people are avoiding the movie based on nothing more than the run-time.
Come on people, baseball has already been selected as the sole thing to blame for the low turnout.
I uh...just saw this in the theater today...
...after watching Blade Runner for the first time yesterday...
The sound was really loud.
And yeah, they're both great movies. Especially after watching the first Blade Runner, I can absolutely see the influence it has had on everything that has come after it, especially on the anime side of things. The sequel felt maybe 30 mins too long, but was otherwise fantastic and I can't really complain about too much there.
I'm just surprised it was still playing in a theater near me. I hadn't realized it came out early October and it's already the very end of November... there were two other people in the 5pm showing with us, lol.
The sound thing seems to be a by theater thing. A lot seem to have cranked it up to 15 while others were normal. Mine was low enough where I could occasionally hear a guy snoring
Also screw that I wish it was 30 minutes longer!
Originally Cut is 4 hours long, was planned to be a 2 part film

Shit I would've been fine with another hour of film as one. Didn't even realize it had gone on as long as it did till it was over
