There’ll be a vast farmland where there are no hedges or anything in sight, and it’s flat like the plains of—where’s the Great Plains in America? Kansas, where you can see for miles. And it’s dirt, but it’s being raked. On the horizon is a combine harvester which is futuristic with klieg lights, ‘cause it’s dawn. The harvester is as big as six houses. In the foreground is a small white clapboard hut with a porch as if it was from Grapes of Wrath. From the right comes a car, coming in about six feet off the ground being chased by a dog. And that’s the end of it, I’m not gonna tell you anything else.

I've, seen things, you people wouldn't believe.
Attacked ships on fire, off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched sea beems, glitter in the dark, near the Tannhauser Gate.
All those, moments, will be lost, in time, like, tears, in rain.
    Time, to die.

I would put Blade Runner in my top ten movies list. I want to see part two. But look out for the people that will cry about how it did not follow the books blaa blaa blaa.
    Spoiler: show

It was a long time ago but I remember, in the book after the movie, the real Rachael killed the Replicant Rachael and took her place running around with Deckard.

Ridley Scott has been talking about making a sequel to Blade Runner for years. I've been wanting to see him finally get to this, and we are now one step closer. They just hired Michael Green to write the script. He's one of the writers who worked on the Green Lantern movie, which doesn't spark much confidence. He must have had a good pitch for the film though, otherwise they wouldn't have let him write it.

There is no official confirmation on if the movie will be a sequel or a prequel, but according to The Wrap, "it will be set some years after the conclusion of the influential first film."

Green most recently wrote the script for the epic Moses movie Gods and Kings, and got his start working on TV shows such as Smallville and Heroes.

Ridley Scott says Harrison Ford is on board to star. Of course, they don't have a release date yet, but they do have a script that's "written and damn good." He's expecting to make it after the movie he's about to start ... so 2-3 years out, maybe?

What is it with the sci-fi film directors' fascination with farms and corn fields?

I'm going to go ahead and guess Sean Young is out since she's basically been a trainwreck since the original lol.

This should make me happy, but I have absolutely no faith it'll be done well.

For some reason, I have more faith it will be done well than I ever did with Indiana Jones. Not sure why. Maybe Ridley Scott's involvement. And while I didn't think Prometheus was fantastic, it was certainly better than Indiana Jones & the Flying Refrigerator.

Sean Young is still acting today, although not in anything you've likely seen anytime recently. She might be serviceable to reprise her role. Of course, they have an easy way out if they decide not to use her.
