My last foray, I took it all melee jobs were neutered by the high accuracy requirement::tp feed ratio. Couldn't do jack if you weren't a PLD/SCH/GEO/BLM/BST.
Naw, most content is clearable with melee these days. Those melee just aren't Monk.
In my experience, Monk lags behind serious melee by at least 30% and maybe as much as 50%. The new Moonbow Belt +1 (1% HQ rate requiring 6 drops from Omen and at least 4.5mil invested per synth) does not change this.
So logged in for 1st time in awhile last night and dead broke, gave all my gil to a friend when I quit 3 years ago.
Ideas for making some fast loot? Or is it still dynamis grinding/crafting hq stuff?
it won't be much in the long term, but activate every records of eminence quest you possibly can (most you will have already completed like mission completion etc) and turn your sparks into gil buying acheron shields to npc. should give you enough for basic needs to get going again. then yeah, dynamis/salvage/ambuscade/voidwatch/merit bcnms are all slow and steady income that you can eventually spam all day long with rhapsodies progress.
If you're active between now and Jan31st, gaining access to Escha-Ru'aun and Reisenjima (RoV) and entering the Domain Invasions will give you access to some pretty substantial equipment upgrades.
On top of that the armor you get from Reisen you can get 6 free super augments a day

Is investing time into getting a daurdabla worth it if I have Terpander? I probably only have the gil/playtime to choose 1 of: mythic emp aeonic. Have a horn already

Like most here I'm playing again after a few years off and I have a few minor questions now that I'm getting into the swing of things.
What are the rules on haste and dual wield gear? Specifically for ninja. I vaguely remember haste gear capping at 26%, but does DW do the same? And how should I go about combining the two stats?The amount of both stats swimming around now is so different now than what it used to be that I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Gear Haste caps at 25%, which you typically hit when your gear adds up to 26%.
Magic Haste caps at ~44%. Haste II/Hastega II/Erratic Flutter/Indi-Haste all give about 30%, and Haste/Mighty Guard/pretty much any March give ~15%. You're basically looking for any combination of the first category with the second.
Job Ability Haste caps at 25%. Hasso/merited Haste samba give 10%, while Last Resort gives 15% base and 25% with 5/5 Desperate Blows merits.
Dual Wield doesn't have a cap as far as we know, but overall delay caps at 80% reduction. Dual wield reduces TP/hit, so you only want exactly as much of it as you need.
0.2 = (1-DW%)*(1-Haste%)
With 10% JA Haste and capped Magic/gear haste, you need 7% Dual Wield to cap delay (common DNC problem)
With capped Magic/gear haste, you need 36% Dual Wield to cap delay.
With 10% JA Haste, 30% Magic, and capped gear Haste, you need 43% Dual Wield to cap delay
With 30% Magic/capped gear Haste, you need 56% Dual wield to cap delay.
