Saw it in AVX, so my sound was just epcially orgasmic but I could still hear all the voices clearly.

Word on the streets is that Pacific Rim did extremely well in the Chinese market (it was released on Wednesday). GDT and this movie deserve all the money they can get, and I hope it's a kazillion bucks.

Yeah it got a record breaking 9 million opening in China. Which isn't much compared to the US but is huge for China. It's only just passed its budget though by making 226m worldwide so far, so here's hoping it'll keep going.

More gossip. So apparently it's earned 70M so far in China, that's amazing for an opening weekend over there. Especially if you compare it to the US one (38M), I still can't believe Grown Ups 2 earned more. Another sign the US is going to burn in hell soon. Anyway, the Japanese audience will get their chance to see it next week. If they don't embrace this shit, I don't know what to tell you because chances are they'll never ever see anything like this again in a billion years. Their vision of catering to the world's audience instead of just 'Murica seems to be working...

Kinda suprised, kinda not. To them, giant robots are a dime a dozen. When you got Gundams in space swinging giant swords and shooting lazors already, this isnt that impressive. Even giant monsters is old news to them, thanks Godzilla! Also no animated boob physics = no go.
