Final Fantasy VII PC/PS4 re-release with extra online features (achievements etc)

Speaking of FF7 PC, I happen to have teh original disks and I'd rather not buy it again. ^^

Is there any unoffical patches to make it run on XP/Win 7 and on modern video cards? I've been searching for that for months..But if they hacked it up AGAIN I'd rather stick to my FF7 PC disks even tho the original system I played it on is junked. (I had a Voodoo 3 in that and not enough cooling; that eventually cooked it. X_X)

Go here and follow the instructions under "Essential things needed to be done before installing any mods". Namely, the custom graphics driver needs to be installed.

Chiyio; It prolly does ^^ Mine had one in the box when I got it but I lost the card a long time ago and went to controller since the kb controls on it suck. (Give me my controller any day.) Played it back in the day with a Gravis pad, I'll prolly use the Dual Shock 2+usb adapter I use for FF11 now a days. ^^ Well, with the analog off. (I suggest that anyone buying it do that if you have that around.)

Just got the game and the whole soundtrack is remixed apparently, loving it so far. The backgrounds look horrible though and Aerith is mispelled in my achievement list, maybe because it's the EU version.
Either way I hope this is only the beginning, I'd love FF8 like this as well.

I don't think you can. You have to be online to even play the game so mods are probably not possible.
Either way what I've heard so far is good enough, better than the original actually. OWA would've been decent with the actual singing in it <_<

IIRC it wasn't in the Eidos release of FFVII either and people just mixed it back in. Asking if SE would put actual effort into the FF7 franchise in this day and age...man I dunno.

Because it'd sound even worse if you tried to fake a choir using MIDI. Granted, no excuse for this new port if they OGG'd everything, making those legacy limitations a non-issue. Also means they can super fucking easily fix it in a patch by just issuing a new OGG file, no testing required.


Also mad atm because I forgot my current dvd-rom drive doesn't like to read CDs anymore. Never gotten around to replacing it given how rarely I use CDs to begin with.

Eek that sounds AWFUL..I'm sticking to my ORIGINAL FF7 PC, now that I got it working. Thanks once again Arkanna. ^^

Oh and btw, I saw a music mod on that page too that I might try to brush the music up to FF7 PSX standards. That'd be awesome if it works.
