Activision’s mandate for Blizzard had become to cut costs and produce more games, which turned off a lot of veteran staff.

So their solution was to go....make a new studio which then requires them to make games to sell.

In the past decade they released what? SC2, a moba, one of the world's bigger digital card games, Overwatch, and Diablo 3? Five new games, with an assume 2-3 year dev cycle each, I don't see the problem with their release cycle other than the moba being a dud plus the user backlash over D3's original release with the RMT shop and all. And that's ignoring WoW expansions in that time period. If anything that's more games than they released in the prior decade.

Meanwhile ActiBliz announces record profits earlier in the year. Going to be hard to maintain that without some of the core talent unless they can find new prodigy's to suck the soul out of with long work hours.

On the Konami end of news things, nobody should play those god awful ports of MGS1 & 2. Speaking as someone who owns the original PC retail copies of them since I never had a PS1/PS2 until far later.

I honestly can't blame people wanting to to bail out on Blizzard. Sounds like the work/pay ratio is shit. Then again gave development in general sounds like it's not worth it unless you enjoy crunch time.
