A new Arc the Lad soon?!?
Brace yourself until an announcement, it's been a while since the Working Designs box set. I would not be surprised if this simply turned out to be an Arc 1/II remake.

Rune Factory Developer Ceases Operations, Filing For Bankruptcy
Rune Factory developer Neverland will be ceasing operations, the company has announced via its official website (via: Game Jouhou).
Neverland say that performance has been sluggish due to changes in the business environment in recent years, and that their financial status has deteriorated considerably.
Additionally, attempts to raise funds to continue operations have been unsuccessful, and Neverland are closing down as of today. They will begin filing proceedings for bankruptcy soon.
Neverland have been responsible for the development of Marvelous AQL’s Rune Factory series ever since its conception. While Rune Factory 4 is the fastest-selling title in the series yet, it appears its success wasn’t enough to turn Neverland’s fortunes around.
This also raises the question of what will happen to Rune Factory 5, which Marvelous previously confirmed would be coming eventually. In addition to Rune Factory, Neverland also worked on games such as Lufia and Shining Force.
There is still hope for Rune Factoryhttp://www.siliconera.com/2013/11/29...essage-future/Earlier this morning, we received the shocking news that Rune Factory developer Neverland will be ceasing operation due to sluggish performance from recent business environment changes. Rune Factory producer at Marvelous AQL Yoshifumi Hashimoto posted a short message in regard to the series and team on the game’s official blog.
Here’s a look at what Hashimoto posted on the blog:
Hello, Hashimoto here.
How are you guys enjoying Rune Factory 4?
I’d like to take this occasion to make a comment about the future.
As of now, it’ll still remain a secret as to what kind of title we’ll be releasing next, but I can say that the staff members are still doing great.
I will leave it at that for now, and I thank you for your continued support.
Producer, Yoshifumi Hashimoto

Activision-published Marvel games pulled from Steam, PSN, & XBLAhttp://www.destructoid.com/some-marv...l-268301.phtmlDeadpool, a game that released on June 25, 2013, is no longer available for purchase on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, or Steam -- and it's not alone.
Other games presumably impacted by a licensing agreement with Marvel coming to a close include Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, X-Men: The Official Game, X-Men Destiny, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Game Informer has confirmed this list with Activision.
I'm unaware of what development on Deadpool was like behind the scenes at High Moon Studios and can only wager a guess knowing Activision served as publisher, but it's obvious the property wasn't given the budget and time frame it deserved. And now it's gone. Such a waste. As for the other titles, I'm bummed I never downloaded X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

DualShockers reports that the translation patch only works with the Extra Edition release on PSP. It’ll also work on PS Vita if you download the game to your handheld.
The patch will translate the whole game, save for some side content. There’s also a guide that explains how to get the patch running.

Tekken producer, Katsuhiro Harada, plans to announce 2 new titles in 2014http://www.siliconera.com/2013/12/31...w-titles-2014/Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada’s former rival Tomonobu Itagaki recently talked about finally releasing Devil’s Third next year, and while Harada has had his hands full with Namco Bandai’s recent burst of F2P games, he also talked to 4Gamer about focusing more on his main job and working on unannounced projects.
During the interview, 4Gamer asks the Tekken developer to share a few words on what he has in mind going into the year 2014.
“This year, as part of being the leader in the development of multiple free-to-play titles, I was also involved in the efforts to change the structures of the console gaming industry with the first party group of SCE (Sony Computer Entertainment),” shares Harada. “I hope to keep this going into next year as well.”
“Tekken is one of my life’s works, and while I can’t say much here, together with the titles we were going to announce this year, I’m also working on several other titles simultaneously with Tekken,” he continues. “From there, I’d like to announce at least two of those titles in 2014, and I feel that it’s something I must do.”
“From there, there are a few titles that we’ve been quietly working on, and some we’ve been thinking about working on, so the year 2014 looks like it’ll be a tough one,” says Harada. “Perhaps I’ll be asking readers on Twitter when I get stuck on ideas or hit a dead-end.”
“Actually, I’ve had to be part of way too many mysterious jobs and non-paying holiday gigs from requests like ‘please show up at this event!’ and ‘please make a surprise appearance in this video!’ even if they weren’t proper plans like those ‘let’s learn from the creator!’ type events,” says Harada.
“For the year 2014, I’d like to focus more on my main job, so please continue supporting us… although first, I’ll be passing by New Year’s parties from other companies, and then I’ll seriously start on my main job!!”

Roll Chan mod of the original Mega Man is now available
http://www.retrocollect.com/News/rol...an-series.htmlMega Man may be the greatest blue bomber to have ever lived, but his sister can pack an equally as powerful punch - something an all new Nintendo NES ROM hack project is set to show you. Starting with the first title in the series, Roll Chan Evolution reworks the 1987 classic to feature Mega Man's sibling as a playable character, allowing you to tackle Dr Wily's evil exports in an all new challenge.
While this ROM hack project may be nothing more than a changing of Mega Man's sprite to feature Roll instead, nothing quite beats having another excuse to tackle Capcom's difficult 8-bit titles yet again. The individual behind this simple but stunning modification recently released a ROM patch for the first Mega Man game.

Original Fallout games disappear from GoG & Steamhttp://www.destructoid.com/gog-com-i...s-268246.phtmlI sincerely hope you managed to grab Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics while they were being offered for free on GOG.com. The games are no longer purchasable, as was made clear during the giveaway, however if you do own them on the service you'll continue to have access to them and their bonus content going forward.
"These classic titles have been with us since day one, that is for over 5 years now, and they were always one of the highlights of the selection of games that we offer," wrote GOG.com. "There are very few titles in the history of computer role-playing games, that have had so much impact on the gaming landscape, players' expectations, and even the popular culture."
This removal is believed to be a result of Bethesda Softworks purchasing the rights to the franchise from Interplay.

Bethesda not sure why, but is prioritizing Steam supporthttp://www.vg247.com/2014/01/02/fall...esda-promises/Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics vanished from digital distributors over the holidays thanks to licensing agreement changes, but rights holder Bethesda is on the case. Writing on Twitter, the publisher said its working to get the games onto Steam and will update when possible; responding to a fan query about GOG, it said only that Steam is its priority right now.

http://gematsu.com/wp-content/upload...er-600x457.jpghttp://gematsu.com/2014/01/japanese-...pirations-20144Gamer.net recently sat down with 151 game developers to discuss their favorite games of 2013 and aspirations for 2014. We skimmed through its entirety and picked out the most interesting of their comments.
Issen Yamai (Atlus Director)
Shinichi Kamoeka (Brownies President and CEO)Favorite games: Grand Theft Auto V and Pokopan
I think 2014 will be a year of preparation for the Maniax team and I. We’re working here and there on the next title. You won’t be hearing from us for a while, you might think we left office or died. (Laughs)
Tsuyoshi Yamazaki (Capcom Director)Favorite game: Yokai Watch
Brownies has one title currently in development that has an epic air about it and we’re aiming to release it this year, so expect that! In that corner we plan on putting out little bits of interesting content, so please keep your eyes out on the official Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Kazuma Hayashi (Examu Director)Favorite game: Beyond: Two Souls
I’m relieved we were able to release Ace Attorney 5 in 2013. Right now we are putting all our power into starting the next title. It’s only just starting, but we’re thinking of various interesting things, so look forward to it. Everyone, have a good New Year!
Manabu Yamana (Genius Sorority President / Game Designer / Director)Favorite game: Kantai Collection
Next year, we hope to release a consumer version of Arcana Hart 3: Love Max!!!!! We hope all of our fans will look forward to it.
Ryoei Mikage (Imageepoch CEO)Favorite game: Minna no Oshaberi Chat
In 2014, we hope to release several new software. I can’t divulge the title yet, but content wise it looks like it’ll be fairly challenging. Thank you in advance.
Akihiro Hino (Level-5 Boss)Favorite game: Brave Frontier
The Nintendo 3DS version of Toushin Toshi goes on sale on January 30th, 2014. After that comes the release of SoniPro for Nintendo 3DS, and then an original SRPG we plan on releasing as Imageepoch’s 10 anniversary title. The original RPG Luminous Arc was Imageepoch’s development debut. We’ve reached our 10 year mark as a company and we feel we should return to our origins by developing great quality SRPGs. Please look forward to Toushin Toshi, SoniPro, and our original SRPG!
Katsuhiro Harada (Namco Bandai Production Chief / Chief Producer / Director)Favorite game: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
In general, I would like to consider new things. Like smartphone games, a reinvention of Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven, etc. The consumer game industry is sluggish, and I feel that “new games” are still needed in the industry. I feel the new titles we create can take users by surprise, so please look forward to them.
Yusuke Tomizawa (Namco Bandai Producer)Favorite game: Payday 2
Tekken is my lifework so I won’t go on about it here, but including the title announced in 2013, we are going to be working on Tekken as well as several other titles. Among those I want to put out at least two this year for sure. Otherwise there titles being worked on behind the scenes as well as related titles, so 2014 looks like it’ll be busy. When I’m having a rough time with ideas or get a creative block maybe I’ll turn to the Twitter followers for help.
Takehisa Matsuda (NIS Director)Favorite game: Dragon’s Crown
This year I hope to make progress on the previously mentioned new plans, including with the God Eater series. I also have an idea for a completely new title, so I’d like to see that come to fruition as well.
Hideki Kamiya (Platinum Games)Favorite game: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
We’re still working on a new Disgaea in 2014 so I hope Disgaea fans are excited! And for people who aren’t fans yet, we’re developing the series for each hardware system, so please wait until you become a fan!
Keiichiro Toyama (SCE Creative Director)Favorite game: 3D After Burner II
We saw one project completed right about the middle of 2013, and then new projects started one after another. It was that kind of year.
Masami Yamamoto (SCE External Development Group Head)Favorite game: Chain Chronicle
The team working on the next title [Gravity Rush sequel?] has finally been organized and progress is coming along exceedingly well. It looks like 2014 will be a year where we immerse ourselves into our work, but we must live up to everyone’s expectations, so we’ll do our best at any rate!
Sato Kazunobu (SCE Senior Game Designer)Favorite game: Pakopan
In order to appeal the broadened Vita market to younger consumers, we’re planning development on a new large scale IP. We also still plan on investing in regular F2P titles like Destiny of Spirits. Of course we’re preparing a big title for PS4 as well, so please look forward to it!
Akitoshi Kawazu (Square Enix Producer and Designer)Favorite game: The Last of Us
PlayStation 4 will finally release in Japan in 2014. I got the feeling that many Japanese fans haven’t had a chance to touch one yet, so let me just say this: the DualShock 4 controller is amazing and easy to hold! I am taking part in the development of PS4 titles myself so you can trust me. I’m very pleased with it, I think it’s a device that gamers will enjoy for many years to come. By all means, try it for yourself.
Tomonobu Itagaki (Valhalla Game Studios Producer and CTO)Favorite game: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
December 2014 will be the anniversary for the SaGa series. We have various efforts being prepared for that. We’re still figuring out things out, but look out for an concrete announcement hereafter. Thanks until then!
Fumito Ueda (Freelance Game Designer, The Last Guardian)Favorite game: Earth Defense Force 2025
Next year is the year we launch Devil’s Third to households. It is currently 80 percent complete. It appears finished. But from here, there’s still some way to go as we polish it up. And it’s for that reason that I became independent. To our fans, I apologize for making you worry. A lot is going to happen next year, so please look forward to it.
Favorite game: Clumsy Ninja
If I can, I hope to provide an update as soon as possible, somehow or another.
