Feel like you guys are grossly underestimating a game actors job. It's not just voice acting either, it's mocap, face scanning, all of it is related to the actors and the job.
Y'all act like they could throw you in the studio and you could pop out a similar quality of work when very clearly you guys are giving an example of an actress who has more training in the field than y'all do but still couldn't produce something worthwhile. They're worth the premium, and if game studios think they can fill their game with a regular Joe Schmoe then by all means, good luck.

That's not what I'm saying at all but you do you.
This strike is also only targeting specific companies, and mostly US based companies at that. Square Enix, Ubisoft, Riot, and Sony are the big boys outside the US who would get caught up in it.
The anime industry has been moving VA recording/dubbing sessions from CA to Texas to avoid using union actors. What's to stop the video game industry from following suit.
Guilty about what
I know the WGA and SAG are separate, but all media reports I have read indicate they have very similar demands and the WGA approving a contract would end up satisfying most of the SAG demands.
Wondering if this is a way for SAG to still communicate to members they need some additional securities before agreeing to new contracts now that WGA's strike seems to be ending.

Sega has dramatically canned Hyenas, the upcoming space-set loot shooter from Creative Assembly.
The publisher demoed the game to press and public only last month at Gamescom.
Today, Sega announced it had cancelled Hyenas in a financial update. It blamed the decision on "lower profitability of the European region" which had caused it to review its project portfolio. "The resulting action will be to cancel Hyenas and some unannounced titles under development," Sega wrote.
Hyenas was being developed by Creative Assembly, the UK-based team better known for its long-running Total War strategy series.
But this space-based loot shooter was something very different: a hero shooter that looks a bit like Payday in space. Here, the loot was licensed objects you'd recognise from the real world - like a Sonic the Hedgehog figurine.
One of the heroes in the game was even a Sonic the Hedgehog cosplayer.
In early August, Sega top brass raised eyebrows by publicly branding Hyenas' development as "challenging". At the time, Sega said it was also looking into "adjusting" the game's business model - hinting it could launch as a free-to-play game instead.
Maybe now they can finally fix Warhammer III.
Lol get fucked dude

Man, you can't tell me that shit was insider trading. Also fuck John Riccitiello.
I'm sure he'll land another cushy CEO gig and ruin another companies image and trust and short some stocks and make bank.
