Adam Sessler quits Rev3, leaves games industry
http://www.tubefilter.com/wp-content...er-600x369.jpghttp://sessactual.tumblr.com/After some incredible achievements over the last year and a half, I am announcing my departure from Rev3 Games and Discovery Digital Networks. Sixteen years in front of the camera covering the videogame industry has brought me to a point where I am ready and desiring to explore new opportunities. While I would never say no to doing one more review, interview or opinion piece, the time feels right to explore new avenues inside of gaming that help further the medium. The audience, my wonderful and talented co-workers and the last year at Rev3 Games will forever be appreciated for what was accomplished. There never is a right time to part ways with something that has become as natural as breathing, but things do end and now feels right.
Good guy, one of the only people that you could take seriously in gaming journalism.
Although based on his post I don't think he's leaving the games industry, but just games journalism.

We know a new Deus Ex game is being developed at Eidos Montréal for next generation consoles and PC, and thanks to a new career opportunity ad published by the developer, explicitly listed under “Deus Ex Universe” and seeking an Online Programmer, now we know that the game is probably going to have some kind of online gameplay.
Here are a few relevant points listed in the ad:
Work with the design team and a large programming team on the implementation of functions of online games;
Building a suite of tools to ensure the operation of a game in live mode;
Have the ability to operate in an environment of multi-platform development;
5-10 years experience in the video game industry as a programmer;
Minimum of two published title – at least one as a programmer “online” video game;
Good knowledge of Xbox Live, PSN and Steam API;
Experience and good command of Square Enix Online Suite is an asset;
Experience working on multi-player games is an asset.
Experience in developing cross platform a plus.
Why do you make me hate you so SNK-Playmore?
posting this here since it's all speculation and rumor at the moment

http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/04/...-rome-setting/Assassin's Creed Comet – a second Assassin's Creed title rumoured to be in development for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year – may be set in Ancient Rome, judging by comments made by Ubisoft Toronto head Jade Raymond.
Discussing the series success with Canadian website The Grid, Raymond attributed its popularity to letting players take on the role of "a badass assassin".
"But then there is an additional element of getting to relive and play a role in these pivotal moments in history," she continued. "We work with historians to recreate these societies — ancient Rome, the French Revolution. And because each game is crafted in a new era, players don’t get tired of the it."
The French Revolution, of course, has already been confirmed as the setting for next-gen exclusive Assassin's Creed: Unity. The setting for Comet, however – if real - has yet to be revealed.
Rome featured as the setting for Assassin's Creed 2 and 2010's Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. But Raymond's reference to Ancient Rome could suggest an altogether different time period.
ac2 -
Interestingly, in 2011 Ubisoft issued a survey asking players where they would like the series to go in the future. One of the options was "the rise of Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome".
Comet may also refer to Caesar's Comet, a major event in Roman history that saw one of the brightest recorded comets pass by the Earth at the time of Caesar's death. The comet also spawned "a cult of the comet", known as the "Temple of the Comet Star", and featured on some Roman coins.
Prior rumours from Kotaku, however, suggest that Assassin's Creed Comet could be set in North America. Kotaku also correctly revealed Assassin's Creed Unity prior to its official announcement.
So, do Raymond's comments hint at the future of Assassin's Creed or is she simply referring to prior games? A Ubisoft representative told VideoGamer.com that it does not comment on rumour or speculation when contacted earlier today.
http://cdn2.dualshockers.com/wp-cont...t-810x1024.pngAssassin’s Creed Comet is a title rumored to be in development for PS3 and Xbox 360 and slated for release later this year, and a rather popular DeviantArt user posted the picture of a piece of concept art allegedly coming from Ubisoft via a friend’s father that made a delivery there and supposedly snapped the photo.
You can see the full picture below. What’s interesting is that Videogamer just posted an interesting article bringing forth the theory that Comet could be set in Ancient Rome. The artwork definitely fits that setting, as the clothing, footwear and gladius indicate.
Of course we should take this “leak” with a large pinch of salt, given the rather sketchy source, but the artwork looks realistic, and quite fitting in style with official Assassin’s Creed concept art published by Ubisoft. It could be real, or a well made fake.
That said, the timing with Videogamer’s article and Jade Raymond’s statements that sparked it is quite interesting, as this picture was posted four days ago, while Raymond’s interview followed two days after.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends PC Version Announced For The West
The PC version of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is coming to the West, Tecmo Koei have announced. The game will be available on PC this May in both the U.S. and Europe.
As reported in the past, the PC version of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends will require Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 to play. You’ll be able to adjust settings such as distances, character model quality, texture quality and more.
In the screenshot above, you see an adjustable option called “Graphic Detail”. This actually refers to LOD or “level of detail,” which determines how complex an object looks, depending on how close to it you are. Finally, the last three options, in case you can’t make them out, are “Dynamic Shadows,” “Shaders” and “Post Effects”.
The two screenshots above this paragraph are from the Japanese version of the game, and illustrate the differences between low and high settings. You’ll notice that the first screenshot has fewer enemies on the screen, fewer details on each individual enemy, and a less detailed ground texture, among other changes.
The PC version will also contain free DLC from Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends.

I don't own any of these other than Limbo on 360, so I am excited. Rented Puppeteer but didn't play much before sending it back and I can always use another Soccer game. Don't know much about Surge or Stick It To The Man.
May PS+ Instant Game Collection -
Next month PlayStation Plus members will receive several games as part of their membership including Stick it to the Man! on PS4, Puppeteer, PES 2014 and Skullgirls Encore on PlayStation 3, and Limbo and Surge Deluxe on PS Vita. Several of these titles are a visual treat, boasting distinct, vibrant art styles.
Below list for both US and EU. We're getting Muramasa muahahaha. I laugh but I don't own Vita yet.
For PS3
Puppeteer -- a platformer made by SCE Japan Studio and released last September.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (US ONLY) -- The US gets the digital version of the biggest sport in the world, which was available last month for the EU.
Skullgirls Encore (US ONLY) -- an update of the popular 2D fighter with "new systems, new stages and music, balance adjustments, gameplay tweaks and more."
Payday 2 (EU ONLY) -- First-person shooter that, much like its Heat-inspired predecessor, lets players play through a variety of heists, ranging from convenience stores to banks.
For PS Vita
Limbo (US ONLY)-- a stark, dark indie platformer
Surge Deluxe (US ONLY) -- An electricity-themed block-matching puzzle game.
Muramasa Rebirth (EU ONLY) -- the Vita port of Vanillaware's gorgeous Wii action-RPG, Muramasa: The Demon Blade.
Everybody's Golf (EU ONLY) -- Better known as Hot Shots Golf in North America.
For PS4
Stick it to the Man -- Originally released on PlayStation 3 and Vita last year, the platforming-adventure game is being brought to PS4 later this month in Europe and early May in North America. It will not be available as a cross-buy title with the PS3 and Vita versions.
